  1. I don't think anyone thought that Bellinger is close to Soto. But as I stated earlier, I thought the additions of him and Goldschmidt and some expected improvement from guys like Wells and Dominguez would offset the loss of soto. Before the injury to Cole, I envisioned something similar to the 2001 Diamondbacks, where facing Johnson and curt in a short series gave them a pretty good advantage. Cole and Fried could dominate a short series as well. Even with the injuries, I still think they're the best team in the division, especially if Gil comes back effective and Williams gets back on track.
  2. I read that his velocity was down almost 2 mph. Is there reason to be concerned?
  3. I thought that another year of improvement from some of the young guys would offset gleyber, who was also a terrible defender. I wasn't too upset with the loss of holmes considering that we obtained Williams (not that that worked out so far).
  4. I thought the additions of Bellinger, Goldschmidt and a full year of Jazz would somewhat offset the loss of soto and make the lineup deeper.
  5. So you would rather the owners pocket the money rather than spending it on the team?
  6. I thought the O's needed pitching, but didn't see this fall. I was optimistic on the Yanks prior to the Cole injury as I thought they would have a more well rounded line-up than last year. And I expected Williams to perform much better than he has. The rest of the division is about what I expected.
  7. I figured them for mid 80's in wins. I certainly didn't expect the orioles to be as bad as they have looked so far. The rest of the division is about what I expected

  10. And the jays win all three if they scored more runs than the sox in each of the three games.
  11. Again, you want to hang on to "tainted by injury". My point is that this may be who they are post-injury. And until that changes, it is who they are. You are more than welcome to deny it or disagree with it all you like.
  12. Never claimed there was anything scientific about it. As I have stated to you countless times, it represents roughly half a season. If you want to hang your hat on what a player did 3yrs ago, have at it.
  13. It's based on that is how they are performing. Pretty simple.

  16. Never said that a player's numbers aren't affected by injury, in fact quite the opposite. Shoulders are very tricky and this may be the new normal for devers is what I said. Then again, it may not be. Only time will tell.
  17. And I could just as easily claim that you are a broken record. Regardless of injury, the fact is that they have both struggled for much more than a month. And whether you like it or not, that is who they are until they change it.
  18. It hasn't been 1 month for either of them. They're struggles date back to last year.
