  1. I didn't write the article, just posted it for discussion purposes.
  2. Because a half season is a reasonable time frame and, again, his present numbers are very similar. Hence why I posed the point that this may be his new normal.
  3. This is not similar? Post AS break 2024 - .240 with a .727 OPS 2025 - .216 with a .747 OPS
  4. Post AS break 2024 - .240 with a .727 OPS 2025 - .216 with a .747 OPS one doesn't need glasses to see the similarity.
  5. Well, his numbers this season are eerily similar......
  6. I never stated that, I merely suggested that it may be a possibility. And, yes, I would push him down in the order to take some pressure off and see if that helps.
  7. .406 Avg 8 HR 27 RBI 43 Hits
  8. Red Sox Slugger Back on Thin Ice Amid Slump to End April
  9. He hit .244 with a .727 OPS post AS break
  10. His poor numbers dating back to last year's AS break are neither a small sample size nor a knee jerk reaction.
  11. nonsense, one home run doesn't really change the fact that he's struggling. He's still only batting .216 His OPS is being propped up by his walks, his slugging is still below .400
  12. That's just silly. It's not about how much of their assets are tied up in the player. It's about how it impacts the salary cap every year.
  13. That's great. I used the sample size that coincides with his injury, as that may indicate the new normal. But you are more than welcome to hang onto what he did 3yrs ago if that makes you feel better.
  14. No, I simply selected the AS break last year. The number just happened to come out to 80 games for devers. 80 games also just happens to represent roughly half a season. So, do you really think what someone has done 3yrs ago is more relevant than what they have done recently?
  15. Because 21 games is a small sample size. 300 games doesn't really show recency. Pretty simple.
  16. I simply picked a recent adequate sample size. I believe that what he has done over the last 80 games is a lot more relevant than what he did 3 or 4 yrs ago. Reminds me of when I worked on Wall St.. There was always that guy that pulled out his W-2 from 1999 as proof of his performance.
  17. I don't consider a decision based on his production since the AS break of last year to be "knee jerk"
  18. How many pitches does cora let crochet go at this point in the season?
  19. Well, post AS break last year he batted .244 with a .727OPS. Combine that with this year and it's far more than a 20-25 game sample size.
