  1. Robles has been Cora’s first guy out of the BP lately. That is how bad the BP is.
  2. The Sox have a lot more problems then you are seeing, and saying just 4 players could make a massive improvement is wishful thinking. JD E Rod Fred Flintstone Schwaber Renfroe The most important Bogey All of these signing, or not signings staying, or not staying have to be answered before you can do anything. 2 solid starters I agree with, but if you think a solid RP is all the bullpen needs then you are way overestimating the bullpen. They need a real closer to begin with, and I’m not counting on Whitlock who needed 3-4 days between appearances to be effective, but I don’t see to much else in the bullpen that I would keep. Only needing a solid utility man for the infield? You have way overrated the rest of the infield. Wow!
  3. I for one have not given up. I don’t scoreboard watch, and I could care less what Seattle, Toronto, or the Yankees are doing. I’ve said for weeks that all the Sox have to do is take care of their own business, and it won’t matter what the other teams are doing. Of course they can’t seem to do that, and that is why they are in the position they are in. It just looks like they have given up, and have not played good baseball for the most part since the all star break, and even worse since the trading deadline. There is not one player on this team right now that you can count on, and this weekend against the Yankees they looked like a little league team. Couldn’t pitch, couldn’t throw strikes, couldn’t field, couldn’t run the bases, and the so called big bats were not so big, so when you say an all star team can loose to the O’s well the Sox are not an all star team, and look more like the O’s the way they are playing. You worry to much about negativity. You can only polish a turd just so long.
  4. Like the Rick Pitino rant 20 years ago. All the negativity in this town sucks. Curt Schilling is not walking through that door, and David Ortiz, and Manny are not walking through that door. Playoffs? Did someone say playoffs?
  5. And just when you think you know the answers we change the questions.
  6. I’m just saying that the way the Sox are playing that no game is a given even against the minor league O’s.
  7. The Sox need a spark, but they are what they are, and at the moment not playing good baseball. The D sucks, but do you think Cora is going to move anyone over at this point?
  8. Cora said the team had a lot of empty at bats tonight. That’s a understatement.
  9. It’s not like the O’s haven’t knocked the Sox out of the playoffs before. Chicken, and beer anyone?
  10. What’s funny is how all of you thought Baltimore was going to be an easy series, and I tried to warn you.
  11. Raffy is not going to win any gold glove at 3B, and Xander at SS, but their not going to make all those changes now. The Sox had been playing pretty good D up until the Yankee series.
  12. I said on a previous thread when everyone was saying the Sox had a easier schedule after the Yankee series that playing Baltimore, and ending up in a NL park that those games would not be a lock as wins.
  13. Bottom line is that the team was not as good the first part of the year when they spent a good time in first place, and aren’t as bad as what they are playing now.
  14. Can’t even get through 6 against a minor league team.
  15. Quite a bargain for3.1 this year, so looks like a little salary bump for next year.
  16. The O’s are minor league.
  17. I’ll say the same thing I said last week if the Sox just take care of their own business it won’t matter what the other teams do. If they don’t like last weekend then it’s a different story.
  18. Arroyo is always hurt, so I wouldn’t count on him Iggy, or not.
  19. My bad. You are 100% correct.
  20. That was a long time ago when Arroyo was playing good D, and hitting. People are assuming that Arroyo will be the second baseman come playoff time, and he might not be.
  21. Iggy should play until they clinch. He has shored up the D, and hit well also. They don’t owe Arroyo anything.
  22. My bad I glanced real quick, and saw one of the games against Tampa that Sale pitched he went 3.2, and gave up 10 hits, and 5 runs, but only 1 was earned, and not 5. Listen I like Sale, and he is better than Richards in the rotation, but I just think he’s been given to much credit for the games he’s pitched that the Sox have scored tons of runs for him, and Richards has it has turned out has been pretty valuable in the bullpen especially since the starters have a hard time getting through 5.
  23. The Sox stored 66 runs in Sale’s 7 starts, and he has a ERA of around 7 in the two games against TB, so I don’t think they are where they are so much, because of Sale, and he gets to pitch anther game against the minor league O’S.
  24. I’m very well aware what Sale is coming off, but if he is ready to pitch he’s ready to pitch, and I’m not going to nitpick on who he pitches against like the Sox have. I’m also not counting on Sale to lead them to, or through the playoffs. If it’s the Yankees then EO gets the ball.
  25. I wouldn’t take a pitcher out like Cora has with Houck more than once even though he was pitching good just, because I’m afraid of what might happen. Nonsense to me.
