  1. Another very talented team that just came up a little short.
  2. 67 was the start of Red Sox Nation, which also livened up Fenway Park, which before was a pretty dead place at least in the early 60’s.
  3. The Cardiac Kids the 1967 team was my favorite team. The 2018 team may have been the most dominant, and the 2004 team the most special for breaking the curse, but this 1975 team had to go through more tougher competition, and came up short. Beating the three time WS Champions Oakland A’s, and taking the Big Red Machine to the final inning of the 7th game was to much to overcome, and the curse lasted another 29 years. It’s always hard to compare on who was the best team at any given time, because there are too many variables then goes into it, and favorite teams are sometimes anointed as a best team.
  4. If Bobby D was to get 550 PA I think that would be a good sign that he is producing, and hopefully you don’t have all the tryouts at 1B as last year especially Arroyo.
  5. It wasn’t just his bat, but his glove didn’t work very well at times last year either.
  6. Good analogy, but like I asked can you really count on Bobby D?
  7. Dalbec is like Barnes, and you don’t know which one you are going to get the good one, or the bad one. Hard to count on either.
  8. I haven’t heard a word from Cora on what next years plans are for the OF, or for JBJ for that matter, so everyone is pretty much going with their own expectations . I know most think that Duran is in the Red Sox plans to get playing time next year, but at this point I don’t, and he starts the season at the Woo Sox. Time will tell.
  9. This is all common knowledge, but still not everyone gets 96 RBI. You could have 10 different batters take the AB that Renfroe took last year, and that doesn’t mean they all would get 96 RBI. I never said Renfroe was all that good, but that he did get 96 RBI, with without the Red Sox would not have made the postseason.
  10. I understand what RBI are, and you can say what batters are around someone about anybody, but that still doesn’t mean they get 96 RBI.
  11. Was that in 1 season?
  12. Moon you said the deal at the time was a head scratcher. I could care less about a couple of prospects that may never play one inning for the Red Sox. I haven’t heard anybody say that Renfroe was that good, but without his 96 RBI last year they don’t make the post season. Subtract Renfroe for JBJ last year do you think they get into any post season? As close as the Red Sox were to making the post season last year they were just as close to not making the post season at all.
  13. Renfroe had 96 RBI, so I don’t think anyone expected anything close to that.
  14. I don’t think Bloom traded for JBJ and his $20M+ salary left on the books to be a 4th outfielder. I didn’t like the deal as it was, and that to me would even look worse.
  15. Well said, and very true. JD had the worst season of his career in 2020. JD could bounce back, but how far? It’s not like he hasn’t hit below 200 before last year, and has been in the 220’s, and 230’s also, so what will be good enough? I’m sure Bloom isn’t done tinkering with the roster, but as things stand right now I don’t think the team is as good as the team that finished 2021.
  16. Seems like a lot of ifs as things stands today. If JBJ can hit, if Duran can hit, and if Arroyo could stay healthy. Tough way to do business.
  17. I I don’t think they got JBJ to be a fourth outfielder, or to be in any kind of platoon, and if they did the trade is worse then it looks, and the Sox could have spent his $10+M on better pitching than Whacka. I also at this point don’t think Duran is in any part of their plans unless he has a bang out Spring Training if there is one. Kike did a good job in CF, and JBJ could just as easily play RF. Of course if JBJ can’t hit his weight then it’s a wasted $20+M on his contract, and changes will have to be made. If Suzuki is signed then JBJ goes to CF, and KIke goes to 2B.
  18. Look I know I’m your favorite poster, but don’t make it so obvious. Come on man! You’ve been Moss’d.
  19. Like I said before he was not my first choice, but someone I just threw out there that hadn’t been mentioned already, so I don’t give a RA if you agree, or not. I don’t need your approval, or want your approval, but you are free to disagree all you want as I am with you. Either way it doesn’t change a thing.
  20. If saying Rusney Castillo was so wrong, and to you a major crime was committed on here, and it bothered you so much then I never want to be right. Hilarious!
  21. As long as it works BOTH ways, but I bet you never considered of you being wrong.
  22. Everyone has an opinion, and some are different than others, and that’s the way it should be. It doesn’t mean one opinion is better than another. It all depends on the interpretation also.
  23. Rusney wouldn’t have been my first pick, but I was just trying to come up with someone who hadn’t been mentioned yet, and he was the first one who came to mind.
