That was about as much of a "series win" as the play in game was a playoff game...... But I guess when you are a sub .500 team in the cellar you need to grasp at any straw.... -

Well, for someone who continually harps on CERA and the importance of things a catcher does aside from hitting, I thought it was pretty convenient that he left that part out. Not that I really expected otherwise.....

I have to laugh when people make these statements like they have actually sat down and had a conversation with the player. Bottom line is none of us has any clue what the player is thinking or how they feel

Because now he acts like he was all for being sellers at the deadline when the reality is he wasn't. He was still spouting the "one game at a time" nonsense.

To my knowledge, Dick Howser has never played 1B in his career. Combine that with the fact that he's been dead since 1987 and I don't think he would be a very good option for first next year. But given what bloom has trotted out there this year, who knows?!!
