  1. Only 1 K through 14 AB's, but just 2 runs so far.
  2. Still very amazing at the W-L results for this time. No regular 2Bman, a hitting hole at 1B , 4-5 guys struggling at the Mendoza line, Ace still rehabbing from TJ , wearing out the BP and the primary catcher , a couple marginal bench guys playing a lot (Santana/Cordero), and a true rookie in CF now showing some pitch recognition issues, 3 #4-5 starting pitchers and a guy with a headache. . But best record in AL . If the Sox can get 3 of 4 from the Jays , heading to Tampa, Bloom needs to do what he has to , to win the AL. Chances don't come too often, even to lovable but flawed teams.
  3. Time for Duran to be the man
  4. A K when all Kike had to do to score a run was put the ball in play, but the umpire, as usual, messed up his strike zone leading to chasing an outside pitch
  5. Great chance for multiple runs here
  6. If Bloom needed any more encouragement to search the trade opportunities, it might be starting 3 hitters tonight with below .200 BAs, and not much better OPSs.
  7. I assume we will be treated to Aaron Boone on TV next year , where he can be the statmaster of the booth
  8. That is just about as good as our win. One game can win a season in the end '49, '78' 11 etc.
  9. Have to say it, the Red Sox f***ed them back today
  10. 3 outs away from the win, Matt Barnes. Literally can't watch him pitch/throw
  11. Duran should just stand there until he sees 2 strikes.
  12. Very correct. 1B is still a black hole at the plate, and the BP arms are susceptible to overwork for a group of average guys at best
  13. Way to go VAZ, now steal second buddy
  14. No doubt the first half was the ultimate tease. If these guys can be in first place, actually lead MLB in wins at times, then Cora is a magician with half the lineup being AAAA'ers not contributing. Check back after the road trip, especially Rays games. If the Sox are to reawaken and make it sustainable, then we will se it soon. Or get buried. Letting the Yaankees stay alive is the worst part though. Had them by the chicken neck.
  15. may as well pile on,, getting a little tired of watching JDM right now
  16. Devers with no patience, getting a little too emotional to be effective
  17. Bogaerts shows them how to do it.
  18. I trust that Duran has been coached by the same people who produced Chavis and Dalbec, none of whom can recognize a breaking ball in the dirt,
  19. If Germain and BP complete the no hit shutout , Sox will be 10-9 for July and have blown a 4 game lead over the Rays . The warts do show up over the 162 game schedule. I think Chris Sale's pending return can't come soon enough to reenergize a sleepy bunch in late July. Having said that the problem is hitting and lineups loaded with AAAA'ers
  20. This just in : Stanton could play for us today and his super cheap "double" yesterday was actually no better an AB
  21. Cordero, Rios etc. None ready for prime time
  22. Red Sox hitters could use a refresher course on recognizing the strike zone. You can't hit a grand slam with no one on base.
  23. Start shifting the emphasis on what is actually good pitching from the #4 starter, to the ineptness of the offense to string productive hitting to get runs
