  1. Although he is truly a veteran by now, he shows streaks of immaturity for a key hitter in the lineup
  2. Cordero's error opens up a big O opportunity
  3. Davis absolutely ripping MLB pitching going 2 for 2 this year . If he could continue to hit 1.000 for a full season, it would be record breaking
  4. Bradley only made sense as a 4th OF'er covering "rest days" , pinchrunning , late inning defense. His contract is expensive for those skills and I would guess he is about untradeable at that price, with option for'23 pending.
  5. This is a fairly unique lineup which started with 2 batters carrying a .000 BA & OPS ( Davis did get a hit), 4 other batters with sub.600 OPS. Even Devers is below .800 , not exactly ripping the league a new one. Among all more likely possibilities, it actually could be Fatse's fault. Davis' single, which left Vaz so shocked he froze in place, got him a 2.000 OPS . Later Franchy actually walked so the slump busting continues despite 7 LOBs .
  6. Story choice of pitches to swing at is remarkable
  7. Vaz didn't realize there were 2 outs. Someone yesterday said he was the dumbest baserunner on the team or maybe all of baseball. Another vote just came in
  8. Still true that if you combine Shaw's production with Franchy's ( his nominal replacement) you have a perfect 2022 season. No hits, no runs, no walks---NO offense at all. But who cares, it's still early, isn't it
  9. I think Travis is going as we speak. Franchy to the rescue, make me laugh Bloomer
  10. That's ok because he isn't pitching either. Maybe if he comes back , he should consider meeting the needs of the team.
  11. There is little question now that it was Venable who messed this team up. AC comes back and in one game all is well in the Nation. Hitters hit, pitchers pitch and Bogaerts gets a day off.
  12. I guess I wouldn't trade for a Kyrie Irving type who could not help the team in all games. An unvaxed would bring less.
  13. Diekman, like many, is a thrower not a pitcher. has little clue where the ball is going when he lets it fly
  14. Nice place for a 3 run jack by Devers to solidify this one a little more
  15. Nice game by Wacha. BP time. Cora does need to sort out more typical roles so these guys can get set mentally as to how they are being used. Houck didn't help with his unvax and the lack of a true closer messes up the 9th inning pitching with a lead.
  16. Dalbec will go no further than some of his predecessor prospects in Boston if he cannot learn the strike zone, and hit accordingly.
  17. Never seen a team with so much warning track power and just can't get the last 10'. It will come sooner or later when MLB changes the balls again
  18. D, with some more normal run production the starters have been good enough to reverse about 4 of those losses and the BP , if able to finish hitters, would have saved 3 .
  19. It may not happen in as radical a shuffle, but 2023's 26 man roster could start with 8-10 new faces . The few givens would include Sale , Paxton, Devers, Story , Whitlock, Houck , maybe Wacha and Bradley if no one else wants him for the price.
  20. Not worried about it, just thinking ahead to the fact that JDM would be a sure trade option at the TDL if these guys are not in contention. So will Bogaerts, Barnes, Eovaldi and others but that does not mean its time to pull the plug on anything. They are in a tough division and not yet playing well .
  21. Very true, but if the Sox aren't contending, they should be able to pick up a ready to play prospect, OF or reliever.
  22. Screw ups defensively disconcert pitchers so often. C'mon Wacha, get the 5th out
  23. There's a story out there . Something wrong with playing out of your natural position. Better bench Bogaerts to allow the "new" guy some space to be himself.
  24. Say adios amigo around July 30th
  25. A bit of lost opportunity there with Raffy and JDM up with bases loaded and no contact between bat and ball.
