  1. Reyes does come through and gives the opportunity for the win , Then gets erased but still trying
  2. Still cannot bunt. basic fundamentals
  3. 13 K's in 9 innings ? I would compliment Seattle pitching on that result.
  4. Watch him play tomorrow. If it is really sore they need to sit him for a week. Otherwise I would think he could stand 1 AB.
  5. When Refsnyder does come back, and he's no real stud, I hope Abreu gets a chance at some reps in Worcester to se if he can hit at all. He sucked big time in the 9th. That is where Devers should have been asked to hit. Oh, I know it's a long season. Doesn't matter much if you win tonight or not.
  6. Always wondered why catchers were not generally better hitters only because they see so many pitches out of the thrower's hand. You would think pitch recognition would be the least of their problems.
  7. Watching Martin pitch is a real pleasure. In command, work the hitter and put them away.
  8. Our pitching is so superior to any efforts to hit it, no team should score on the Breslow-Bailey trained hurlers.
  9. Wong's recognition of the strike zone leaves much to be desired
  10. Going to WAR with Abreu, Rafaela, Valdez and Reyes consecutively in the lineup is a AAAA mix at best. Surely Devers could PH if needed. Cannot waste this kind of pitching with no support.
  11. Incredible red Sox pitching , but without Devers, no hitter is much of a threat so far. Extremely small sample size but offense is the current issue. Can't use speed if you don't get on. As many have said, you can't steal first, but you can walk if very deliberate on waiting for strikes. Then the umps f*** you over
  12. Goals for Game#3: 1. Boston wins by any means: 2. Score runs w/out Devers. ( Something not yet done this year) #3. Crawford mimics Bello and Pivetta
  13. Had the bad luck this afternoon to catch 2 innings of Angels @ Orioles. Conclusions: O's have already won the AL East,. with relentless hitting. Batted around and scored all 9 before making the first out of 6th inning.. On the other hand, Angels BP is truly horrendous. Sox should sweep them in Anaheim next week by just getting into their pen. What an awful team , especially after losing Ohtani for nothing in return . Talk about totally misjudging your actions. Surprised Bloom wasn't a consultant for the Angels Meanwhile back at T-Mobile , the Nation awaits the decision on Dever's shoulder fitness. His own quotes about it feeling progressively worse before skipping Friday night's game are not encouraging for the long haul, even if he plays tonight. Might have been worth PH'ing one time last night with the 1-0 game in the balance. The soreness may let up for Saturday but the underlying condition will not cure overnight. Suddenly the Splinter makes it clear, no Devers tonight.
  14. Shame to lose that one 1-0 . Big question tomorrow will be whether Devers is ok to swing the bat.
  15. I thought starting pitching was the problem with this team. Here we are 1.4 games in and doing very well.. Still a shot at the 162-0
  16. It would be nice if Bobby D can get 2 out of the park. It will also be good if he can limit his fielding to just one error, and make a few good grabs. Let's just say, he isn't a natural at 3B.
  17. MVP's contact list , all on speed dial
  18. After all the bitching and lack of definitive action in the off season, last night's clean win (x Joely Rodriguez) was one of the best Red Sox games to just enjoy in a long time. It just erased quickly a lot of the negatives around where this team is going. They still well may finish 78-84 again, or worse, but they may also be more fun to watch as a young bunch who can run , assuming they get on base . Anyway, I may not watch any more this year since I don't want to fall off last night's enjoyable high.
  19. Game #2 Goals: 1. Boston wins, always the maximal goal; 2. No fielding errors 3. No idiotic baserunning errors 4. Pivetta gives up no more than 2 HRs 5. Sox use speed factor to generate another 6 run scoreboard.
  20. Remember, if you do not win the first one, you cannot win them all. So I'm saying there is a chance at 162-0.
  21. Well if they follow my goals this will be a great season. They pretty much hit them all with only minor slips ( Joely Rodriguez)
  22. Is it LOBster season already, Tristan ?
  23. So does Cora go to Kenley for the last 3 outs ? I think Kenley is on the career downslope and while mostly effective, not dominant.
  24. O'Neill, only hitter in MLB history to hit an HR in 5 consecutive Opening Games . Might make us forget Duvall' March-early April. Needed that rocket boost
