    I like all of the new rules. I hate the shift. Infielders playing 30 feet into right field and throwing guys out is not good for baseball. Fans want to see offense. Pitchers have always taken too long to throw the ball. Baseball has become hard to watch. The new rules will make it a better game. The players need to stop crying.

    Emmanuel Valdez who the Sox got from the Astros in the Vaz trade is having a heck of a year. Between AA and AAA he has 32 doubles, 28 HRs, 104 RBI and a .304 BA. Only 23. Strikes out a little too much but plays multiple postions. A Bloom guy if I ever saw one.

    Who is going to get a clutch hit? This team can’t win late at TB. They can lose late though.

    Casas last two at bats have ended with him begging for a walk on a 3-2 pitch. Swing the bat rookie.

    Tampa also has a lot of guys who get hits in the clutch which the Red Sox do not.

    Red Sox leave the bases loaded in the top of the seventh and Tampa comes right back and takes the lead in the bottom of the seventh. Typical.

    This game is typical of Red Sox performances in Tampa Bay over the last few years. Even when they have a lead late in the game they can’t hold it and Tampa scores a lot of runs by way of walks and hit by pitches and weird plays.

    Familia is another guy I don’t want to see in a Sox uniform next year. He is a bum.

    Sox are playing better. Having Story back and hitting is huge. Xander is on fire. Dugo and Arroyo are hitting. Casas is going to be an improvement at first. They may not make the playoffs but they can be spoilers.

    Sox fans should really take the time to enjoy Eck over the last 30 games. He is so good. I am really going to miss him. He won't be replaced. Losing him to retirement and Jerry to cancer is tough.
