  1. One good thing about JD's lack of prowess defensively is that there probably won't be any high bidders from the NL for his services.
  2. I'm pretty sure the SOX will pass Tampa, but, yes, passing a second team will not be easy, but not impossible. I was rooting for the Yankems to beat the A's earlier today. Rooting for the Yankems is not easy for me to do and I sure don't want to make it a habit. Sometimes one has to things he/she doesn't like for the greater good.
  3. JD is a DH. Anything he brings defensively is an unexpected bonus.
  4. After the 2018 season Cora was on an ego trip, believing he could do know wrong. At least this season has brought him back down to earth.
  5. That question will have to be directed at MOON. Er, what's that? Oh, sorry MOON.
  6. Btw, three greats celebrated their 80th birthday this year. YAZ, GONE WITH THE WIND and THE WIZARD OF OZ.
  7. I know the SOX reaching the PO's doesn't look good right now, but we've both watched enough baseball to know stranger things have happened. Of course, Betts getting hot would help.
  8. Is that pitch clock in effect when there's runners on base?
  9. Interesting stat on the LA feed. Betts leads the AL in number of hard hit balls to the outfield with 142. Devers is third and Trout is 5th.
  10. There is absolutely no reason to platoon Brock at 2nd.
  11. Brockstar may be having his best season as a SOX. Let him continue to play 2nd until the SOX are mathematically eliminated. Which I hope doesn't happen.
  12. Unfortunately for us the A's own the Yankems.
  13. As a team the SOX pitching is ranked at 18th in the league with an ERA of 4.66. Of the teams ranked 19-30 only the Brewers at 4.71 and ranked 20th are playing over .500 ball (68-66).
  14. N. Eovaldi 1-0 6.64ERA vs J. Suarez 2-5 6.67ERA Winning isn't everything; it's the only thing. SOX have the away from home field advantage.
  15. Having already brought up Owings and Josh Smith, I'm afraid to find out.
  16. I have love for both, but they were just given a warning.
  17. Others thrown out were Black & Decker, Jack Black, The Black Crowes, and The Black Keys.
  18. The SOX are road warriors and home wimps.
  19. The Lump throws out both Black and Blackmon.
  20. More info: Workman leads AL relievers in lowest opposing BA at .125.
  21. And more good news is the SOX will remain on the road thru the weekend. Very strange when one wants his team to stay on the road.
