When it comes to ruining the game, I would mention bad HP umpiring, new relief pitcher rule, 7 inning DH's, and putting a runner on 2nd in extra innings. And just wait when they come out with the 4 fouls and your out rule.

They may do that, but I would disagree. It's up to the batters to adjust. If a manager wants to put 7 defenders in LF, let him.

Nice play by Perez and, of course, he just gave up another RBI hit.

A sportswriter in Cleveland believes they chose the name Guar(dians) because of its similarity to In(dians).

Perez has a WHIP of 1.477. You don't get a WHIP like that w/o putting many batters on base, whether it's a hit or a walk.

Never a good idea to compliment a pitcher until he's officially out of the game.
  7. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
In defense of both pitchers and hitters, HP chUMPIRING has been pathetic for a long time.

Is Dugo going to be another Benintendi?
  9. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
When one considers how bad pitching is in the majors, one has to imagine what kind of pitching did Duran face in the minors?

I think you meant Cashman. And, yes, they'll definitely want to extend Judge's contract. He's by far their best everyday player.

Yesterday's loss could be attributed to the 'blind squirrel' syndrome.

As a Yankem hater, there's some satisfaction knowing that the Yankems are stuck with Stanton for a long time.

    German ass.

Interesting stat on Perez. His unattractive WHIP this season is 1.477. His career WHIP is 1.477.

Sorry to hear about your dog, the best animals on the planet. Also, hope your friend is feeling better. Mental health is important; enjoy Fenway today. GO SOX!
  17. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
Another way to look at this series so far is the Yankems came to Fenway 7 games back and now they're 8 games back.
  18. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
One way to look at this is that the SOX should have lost the 1st game and they should have won today.
  19. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
It was definitely fun for 7 innings.
  20. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
I was thinking the same thing with 1st base open. Dalbec would have PH for Duran.

Good drama. SOX don't die easily. Get 'em tomorrow.

    Vaz!

    Nice at bat by Renfroe.

Chapman's wife hopes he doesn't blow this.

Ottavino's pitch to f'ing Stanton was a good pitch; Stanton put an ugly swing on it and the rest is history.
