  1. Imho, Richards has a better shot at pitching a 9 inning shutout than hitting a dinger.
  2. In 1968 YAZ led the AL in batting with a .301 average. He also led the league in walks and on-base percentage.
  3. The major league batting average as of today is .232. The lowest since 1968. I believe the pitching mound was lowered the following year.
  4. Marwin may be the SOX best defensive SS and best defensive 1st baseman. And he's doing it with 2 different type of gloves.
  5. Spring training for Ted Williams: Sufficient time in the batter's cage and then off to do some fishing.
  6. The Manny comparison is interesting. Both were advised to take their meds, but only Devers did.
  7. Definitely, having a short memory in baseball is a plus, especially for relief pitchers.
  8. Speaking of Marwin's contract; the contract that Price signed with the SOX would equal Marwin's contract after Price started 3 games.
  9. For a 1yr/3,000,000 contract, Marwin has been a good pick-up. He is a very good utility fielder and if he can hit at least .250, he would be a steal.
  10. Buckner was a gamer. He would run into walls attempting to make a catch. He also appeared in what I consider the funniest episode of CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM. It was titled MR SOFTEE, in which Bill made a terrific catch.
  11. Hunter has a powerful swing. Can't wait to see what happens if he ever makes contact.
  12. Fun to see another team's pitchers provide the music for 'a walk in the park.'
  13. That's not fair. SOX manager leaves his pitcher in longer than that when said pitcher is ineffective.
  14. Keep doing that X-man and you will be out of the spotlight.
  15. No Dugo today. So much for the muscle cramp diagnosis. I wonder how many of these muscle injuries in baseball are a direct result of too much time in the weight room? Before there were weight rooms in baseball there seemed to be hardly any of these type of injuries. Weight room=more HR's=more $.
  16. Cordero signed for 1yr/$1,000,000. That sounds close to the league minimum in salary. So there's no way Franchey will be an albatross in the SOX future, unlike, let's say Stanton of the Yankems.
  17. I've watched all the SOX games so far this season. Defensively, with Dugo in LF, Kike in CF, and Renfroe in RF, I fail to see a problem. Offensively, except for Dugo, at this point, there is a problem.
  18. Hell of a coincidence that Jacksonianmarch crawled out of the cellar at the same time the Yankems did. I've heard that if one ignores Yankem fans, they usually disappear.
  19. It looks like we're gonna need some MAX MAGIC starting tomorrow.
  20. Hey, Thunder, if you make it home on time, you'll be able to watch a replay of this game on NESN.
  21. If this had been a one run game, I doubt Seattle would have pitched to Devers. Rafi has no protection behind him.
