  1. Valdez has been pretty special, so far.
  2. Relief pitchers can have good stuff; just ask ECK.
  3. It is getting late, but they haven't turned the lights off yet.
  4. A starting reliever is an oxymoron, but I think your idea is a good one.
  5. The NHL has a firm salary cap that no team can go over. Would anyone here like to see that in baseball?
  6. Berra once said "It's getting late early out there."
  7. The most consistent thing about baseball is how inconsistent it is.
  8. Ted Williams wrote the greatest book on hitting and I wonder how many non-pitching major leaguers have read it. I always remembered from reading Ted's book how strongly the Splinter felt about using a lighter bat. Ted firmly believed in the velocity of the swing. I believe Ted employed a 31oz bat.
  9. 84 mph fastball. That's Velveeta cheese.
  10. Imagine Richards pitching to Eddie Gaedel.
  11. Baseball rules state a batter must have a bat when he's in the batter's box. Even if he is only 3 feet high.
  12. No! No! A thousand times NO.
  13. Eck has a short memory. Ryu, Toronto's starter yesterday, was throwing around 85 mph.
  14. With the SOX 3, 4 and 5 starters you may get that feeling a lot this season.
  15. Btw, I really love the idea of 'resting' one of the team's hottest hitters.
  16. Bichette better not lose his bat.
  17. This actually is a Porcello-like start. Give up a bunch of runs early and then settle down. Porcello also benefited from a lot of runs by the SOX when he started. Hopefully, the SOX can extend Richards the same courtesy.
  18. Interesting that the Yankems signed Kluber to a one year 11 million dollar contract.
  19. According to the internet he signed a one year, 10 million contract.
  20. It's still early in the season; maybe Richards will 'bloom' later.
  21. I guess there's 10 million reasons why Richards will stay in the rotation.
  22. I guess time will tell. It always does.
