    MC will be batting lead-off. And Marwin will be batting 9th. DalbeK will be on the bench.

    Arroyo placed on 10 day IL. Arroyo is one of those fragile players that when he slides into a base, you hold your breath hoping he's not injured.

    Nola has also had 2 hits, including a run producing double. Phils lead 1-0 in the middle of the 5th.

    Nola has 11 K's in 4 innings. Unfortunately, this is one of those crap 7 innings games, so his chance of reaching 20 are slim.

    Nola had no idea he had just tied a 51 year old record. deGrom(big surprise) had struck out 9 in a row earlier this season.

    Yup. And Alonzo ended it on a great piece of hitting on a low outside 2 strike pitch.

    Nola of the Phillies has just struck out the 1st 9 Mets' batters. He broke the Phillies' record of 7 and is one strike out away from tying Seaver's major league record of 10.

    I'd love to see the SOX put #15 on the facade sooner rather than later. For years I've questioned why #24 wasn't retired. Doesn't make any sense. The criteria at one point was that the player had to have been inducted into the HOF and finished his career in Boston. Obviously, that's no longer valid. Pedey was one of the best who ever wore a SOX uniform and no one played the game harder or better.

    Surprisingly, that article didn't mention the real 'elephant in the room,' the starting pitching, which more than any other factor makes the SOX damn lucky to be where they are.

    We won't finish the remaining 13 games against the Rays until after the trade deadline. Should be interesting what the standings will look like at that time.

    Sometimes, as I've said many times before, you have to tip your cap to the opposition's pitching. If we're gonna praise Pivetta's performance tonight, and rightly so, we've gotta recognize the other team's pitching performance.

    He threw a wild pitch; it happens. I'm not worried about Barnes. Now starting pitching? That I'm worried about. That's the elephant in the room.

    Before the Tampa series I posted that I would be very happy if the SOX went 3-3 against the Rays and Yankems. Now I would be ecstatic.

    Great start wasted. Obviously, wasn't the SOX night. Rays are a well-balanced team and I certainly hope they don't obtain Scherzer.

    Before I forget. Pivetta's stuff tonight can be described by a word I've very seldom used for SOX starters. NASTY!

    More than likely. Base running is something else the SOX aren't dazzling at.

    Now that the Rays got a hit, the last time the SOX had a combined no-hitter was a game started by Babe Ruth. He walked the first batter and then got ejected. A pitcher named Shore came in and finished the no-hitter. This info courtesy of the Rays' announcer.

    C'mon, MAX. You don't have to defend Cora all the time. He's not god; at least I don't think he is. Is there like a Cora Cult out there?

    Great point. I'm a firm believer that excessive weight room usage causes more injuries.
