Someone mentioned yesterday that Dalbec was 25. I just checked; he's 25. He definitely needs to get it rolling this year. You get old early in baseball.
I can't even imagine a manager trying to take Bob Gibson out of a game because he threw 100 pitches. The manager would get his what for and Bob would still be on the mound.
Prior to the 'pitch count' era, no one cared how many pitches a pitcher threw; hell, it was never even mentioned. Nolan Ryan, because of control issues, would throw close to 200 pitches in a lot of games.
