  1. From what I've seen their biggest strength is their BP. Like I posted earlier about how tough the AL East could be, even the team that finishes last will not be easy to beat. What ever team finishes first in that division, it will definitely be a struggle.
  2. They're both power RH's and equally strong. It should be interesting to compare them as the season moves along.
  3. The AL East, imho, is going to be the toughest division in MLB. So far, there's no cupcakes in the East.
  4. Fun fact: Based on playing the most teams who have an above .500 record, the O's have had the toughest schedule in MLB so far this season.
  5. Having just played the O's, which rookie, Dalbec or Mountcastle, do you guys believe will develop into the better hitter?
  6. Actually, Cora could have let Perez start the 6th and then pulled him if anyone got on. Baseball 101. Oh well, can't win 'em all, but this game was certainly winnable.
  7. Too bad the SOX can't bat against their own BP, instead of Baltimore's better BP. Also, didn't understand the removing of Perez with low pitch count plus his being effective, but I won't criticize the manager because that would be blasphemous on this thread.
  8. I realize it's still early in the season, but Betts isn't exactly tearing it up for the Dodgers. Batting .215 with RISP.
  9. Here's a fun fact I'd just discovered while watching the Dodgers/Angels game. Of the SOX 22 wins, 15 were of the come from behind variety.
  10. But, like a lot of things in recent history, the standards for quality have gone down. Hey, you kids, get off of my lawn.
  11. Just to avoid what some of us consider a quality start and what is defined in the ML as quality start. ML definition of QS=Starting pitcher must complete at least 6 innings and not give up more than 3 earned runs. If a pitcher did pitch 6 innings and give up 3 earned runs every start for the entire season, he would have a ton of QS, but would end the season with a 4.50ERA. Personally, I would change it from 3 earned runs to 2.
  12. Koji like. Barnes, please don't ever use the quick pitch again. You're gonna hurt yourself.
  13. Should have kept Taylor in. Oh, well, it's a crapshoot no matter who.
  14. Say what you will about Mancini, but I still love his theme music to PETER GUNN.
  15. I know once one starts hating on a guy it's hard to stop, but, except for Barnes and perhaps Whitlock, what SOX reliever is worth having trust in?
  16. I just figured out Cora's strategy. He knew Taylor would eventually have to pitch to Mullins.
  17. Taylor's not the worst guy in the pen, although he's close.
  18. Nothing fair about baseball. Even the foul poles and foul lines are misnamed.
  19. There's a good reason we're lucky to have Renfroe.
