  1. Just informed that the last time the SOX won a series in Oakland was in 2016.
  2. A definite YUP. I remember how much criticism Kimbrel took because he caused so much drama closing a lot of games. Playing for Boston is not easy and closing for Boston; that's even more stressful.
  3. I'm fine with Barnes. I doubt another Koji is going to be knockin' on the SOX door anytime soon.
  4. No question; the SOX BP has made up for a lot of SOX weaknesses.
  5. "You want the drama? You can't handle the drama!"
  6. Barnes has probably made himself unavailable tomorrow night.
  7. It's like Kimbrel never left.
  8. With all that foul territory pitching half of your games in that ballpark has to lower your ERA. OTOH, as a batter playing half your games there definitely has to lower your BA.
  9. Skye Bolt? Sounds like he's fast.
  10. VAZ has been 'nutless' for a while.
  11. In many batters' at bats it's swing hard in case you hit it. In Devers' at bats it's swing hard because you're likely to hit it.
  12. 6-9; four blind squirrels and only one found his nuts today.
  13. Most excellent start by Pivetta today!
  14. Imho, the most entertaining part of All-star break is the celebrity softball game.
  15. If I'm not mistaken, Ted was half Latino. I believe either his father was born in Mexico.
  16. Actually, during an interview with Larry King, Ted was asked by Larry how did Ted handle the shift when he had to face it? Ted simply answered "I just hit it over their head."
  17. RF was even deeper before Yawkey got permission to put a bullpen there in 1940. The BP was later referred to as Williamsburg.
  18. Yup. I believe he wrote a book about that and never mentioned 'launch angle.'
  19. Nice swing there by Bobby.
  20. Mr Gibson was one mean hombre on the mound. And, like you pointed out, he had some power. The guy looked like he had 1% body fat.
  21. Ted Williams handled the shift quite well. He just hit it over their heads.
  22. There's your 1 run, Pivetta. Now go with it. Words Bob Gibson often heard when he pitched for the offensively challenged Cards.
  23. I thought a pop-up record for both teams was set last night, but I guess not.
  24. If one has to rest the SOX better players, doesn't it make more sense to rest them one at a time? Not questioning Cora because the SOX are in 1st place.
  25. Just rechecked the line-up. Make that blackhole 6-9.
