Any chance of extending the month of May?
  2. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
At this point of the season Devers may have the most impressive offensive numbers in MLB.
  3. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
I guess it was a good idea not firing the hitting coach earlier this season.

    Bobby Offense.
  5. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
    Mancini is a fine ballplayer.
  6. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
This may be Cora sending a message to Bloom. HELP!
  7. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
Good question. I'd like to be able to answer it, but it's beyond my pay grade.

Charlie Finley, probably the smartest owner in all of baseball, saw all of this coming after the Curt Flood ruling. He had a large yard sale and said adios.

I tried finding that on the internet, but all I found was a 4 year deal at 90 million that was offered during spring training. It appears Bogey is looking for something around 30 million per year. Aren't we all.
  10. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
I read that the SOX offered Bogey 220 million for 9 years earlier this season.

Another damn fine job by Pivetta. Definitely has to be the frontrunner for AL Pitcher of the Month.
  12. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
Btw, the SOX FO offered Bogey 24 million per year for 9 years. On what planet is that considered a disgusting offer?
  13. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
Yup; he and JBJ always bust it running to 1st.

    deVAZtating!

It's Han Solo Day at Fenway.
  16. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
7-8-9-1-2 adds up to 5 dingers.
  17. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
I wonder when the last time the 7-8-9 batters hit HR's in the same game for the SOX?
  18. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
Renteria made the last out for the Cards in that final game of the '04 WS, and he was wearing #3 on his jersey.
  19. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
Zimmerman definitely hasn't gotten over the last inning.
  20. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
DEVERS DEliVERS! With JD being an on-base machine, maybe Devers and JD should switch places in the line-up.
  21. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
After giving up HR's to Dalbec and Cordero in the same inning, Zimmerman was immediately put on suicide watch by the O's manager.
  22. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
I'm beginning to adjust to JD being a slap hitter and not a HR hitter. I hope he wins the BA title this season.
  23. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
Hopefully, the SOX will show more spirit than they did last night. C'mon, SOX, don't force me to discuss my aluminum siding history again.

It's about time someone mentioned JH in this discussion. He hired Bloom for a reason. I'm guessing the reason was he wants the SOX to operate the same way Tampa did. Develop SOX players in the minors and then get rid of them when they become too expensive and every once in a while sign a free agent. JH is tired of getting burned with long term and expensive contracts. Btw, he did buy the SOX 4 championship teams over the last 18 years.

To paraphrase Strother Martin, " What we got here is a .500 ball club."
