  1. No, the White Sox are not vastly superior to the SOX. My point was back around late July the SOX were in 1st place and 24 games over .500. Based on their below average starting pitching and below average defense, I couldn't come up with a reasonable explanation of how this could be, so I just referred to it as magic. Most don't believe in magic, but I'll definitely admit, as has been proven, magic is not sustainable. I just love being able to employ the word 'sustainable.'
  2. The White Sox magic number is now 12. The SOX magic numbers ended back in late July.
  3. No reason at all to have any optimism regarding not getting swept unless Tony decides to give half his team a day off tomorrow.
  4. Wasn't even close. Robo umps on the bases also. Incompetent bunch of A-holes.
  5. Maybe if the league disallowed batters from wearing armor at the plate, the batters might make more of an effort to avoid getting hit.
  6. I guess what I'm asking is the DH considered the same as a position player in this situation?
  7. Here's a perplexing question. Ohtani pitched and got shelled tonight and a reliever came in. Now if Ohtani was an infileder or outfielder, the manager would just replace the position player with Ohtani to keep his bat in the line-up. Here's the question that someone here might know the answer to. Because with Ohtani pitching the Angels didn't use a DH, could Ohtani after being lifted from the mound become the DH for the remainder of the game?
  8. SOX, at least, making this a game.
  9. I hardly ever watch NL games so I can't comment on the chUMPS in that league.
  10. The main thing that really and truly sucks in the AL is the umpiring. And, of course, the O's.
  11. Devers is overdue for a delivery. Your package should arrive by 10:30PM.
  12. In fact, the best trade deadline pick-up in the AL East was probably the Jays acquiring Berrios.
  13. D-Hern gets the job done, but his pitch counts continue to be atrocious.
  14. Doesn't matter which teams are in the wild card because, imho, it's gonna be the Rays and the White Sox in the ALCS. Having said that, the Jays could be the dark horse.
  15. One positive thing Iggy did do tonight was help raise Rodon's pitch count with his 12 pitch at bat earlier.
  16. Houck's 3/4 delivery almost screams of an upcoming TJS.
  17. In Houck's defense he did come up thru the SOX farm system, which has been a disaster in developing pitchers.
  18. Moon, back in the day certain teams would fine the pitcher for giving up an 0-2 base hit. SOX may want to put that back in play.
  19. I believe the SOX pitchers lead in giving up hits on 0-2 counts.
