Even when errors don't produce runs, it still adds to the pitcher's pitch count. That both Seattle and the SOX are in contention makes one scratch his head.
JD hits a solo HR. Solo HR's are one thing the SOX have done extremely well since late July. I'm guessing runners on base have been distracting the SOX batters.
EO would be the poster boy for intensity. He leaves everything on the field. But I agree that most of the SOX give the impression they're just going thru the motions. Devers may have been over intense in the last week or so.
With EO starting the SOX should be favored, but that the SOX are playing on the west coast may neutralize that. Even with much better teams than this one the SOX have had their problems out west.
