  1. While looking up Moon's questions on the internet, I found an interesting streak. Freddy Freeman went 35 consecutive AB's without swinging and missing. The streak ended in July 2021.
  2. No place is truly safe nowadays.
  3. And playing at it very well.
  4. According to the internet Tommy Thevenow, who played in the NL from 1926-1938, had a career 3337 at bats w/o a HR.
  5. Testing your baseball knowledge: This major leaguer hit a HR his 1st time at the plate. After 21 years and 493 PA's he never hit another HR. Who was he? Hint: Obviously, he was a pitcher.
  6. Bsides being a great player, what other similarity will the Mike Trout share in the future with Ted Williams and Ernie Banks? This is strictly my opinion.
  7. Trading Devers for Judge is reminiscent of 1947 when the Yankems and SOX were considering trading Williams for DiMaggio. Yawkey decided that Joe D wasn't enough and also wanted Berra included in the trade.
  8. How rare is that, MOON? As rare as the SOX farm system developing a starting pitcher.
  9. I meant to say 'left' not 'right.'
  10. When JBJ goes to left, more often than not it's a base hit.
  11. JD back to suffering his Tourettes of swinging at low outside pitches. He just can't control that tic unless he's at 451 Fahrenheit.
  12. I'm convinced that anyone who continues to dis Devers is nothing more than a troll.
  13. Years ago the St Louis Blues hockey team had HULL and OATES.
  14. Honestly, it's hard to evaluate a pitcher's performance against such a poor hitting team. But, otoh, he did show great command of his pitches tonight.
  15. Yup; he had everything working. Do you still want him to close? Just asking.
  16. If the SOX get a HAUL, it has to include OATES.
  17. Btw, after the 2006 regular season there were 3 division leaders that had 96, 97, and 97 wins.
  18. Would you state that a team that finishes the season 5 games over .500 is a championship caliber team? Probably not and you would have been wrong.
  19. Any team that makes the PO's has a chance of winning it all. Many times in baseball history the best teams during the regular season don't win it all.
  20. I do remember that in 2006 the Cards finished the season only 5 games above .500 and ended up winning the WS. So, who knows.
  21. I thought you answered your own question.
  22. Right now Greene hasn't mastered enough variety to be an effective starter, but right now, on a better team, he definitely has closer stuff.
  23. You can teach a young pitcher how to throw a change-up, a slider, and a curve. You can't teach him how to throw 101mph.
  24. I'd still trade for the guy. I'd give the Reds the SOX best two pitching prospects for him.I doubt the Reds would be interested.
