    The only other team that was interested was Atlanta and they also offered him a minor league contract.

    The SOX offered him a minor league contract and the Yankems offered him a 2 million dollar major league contract.

    A change of scenery. The SOX have about 6 players in their lineup who could use a change of scenery.

    Now that D-Hern has better control he's easier to hit.

    That also leaves the SOX farm system out.

    Btw, I'd rather have Ref in the line-up over Duran. I admire Duran's speed, but until the league comes up with another rule change, a batter can't steal 1st base. Also, Ref is better defensively.

    I know great catches bore you, but when a team has a shite pitcher like Pivetta throwing, they better have an outfielder who can make fantastic catches.

    The SOX will probably remain paper tigers until the trade deadline when Bloom won't trade JD and Bogey and that will be a shame.

    Another starter the SOX will have to worry about is Wacha. He will not be reliable to be ready every 5th day as the season progresses.

    I do believe 2 of the 3 wins against the Yankems lately were after the SOX were 4 runs behind.

    Carpenter for 2 million/year may be the best deal any MLB team made this year.

    It appears Pivetta is going thru lately what he's been most of his career.

    Seriously, I believe that if the Nats made that 450 million or reduced the years to 14, Soto would accept it.

    As ungifted as JBJ is as a hitter, he is definitely a gifted defender. You can't coach what he does in the OF.

    I still think all JD needs is a good oiling.

    The other reason for turning down all that money could be that Soto and his agent didn't think Soto was worthy of that large amount. That happens a lot in MLB.

    The Yankems do it all the time. Even the terrible Gallo has 10 homers.
