  1. Btw, I believe that the SOX FO will re-sign Bogey and extend Devers. Just a gut feeling.
  2. JD's massive decline, Sale getting re-injured, injuries to the starting staff and Casas going on the IL in WOO cannot be blamed on Bloom. Imho, his biggest error was obviously trading Renfro for JBJ. And as far as that Renfro trade blunder, I still believe Cora may have whispered in Bloom's ear to get JBJ back to Boston. And as far as the Betts' trade is concerned; the SOX(JH) weren't going to pay Betts what he and his agent wanted, so for two months w/o Betts the SOX picked up a .290BA OF and, perhaps, their future starting catcher. I have no idea what the future holds for Downs.
  3. M. Wacha vs L. Patino Obviously, it would be advantageous for the SOX if their ACE could give them 7 today. I'm guessing Plawecki will be catching today. Go SOX!
  4. It's a SSS, but Wong may help making the Betts' trade less one-sided.
  5. If the SOX have any starter that's capable of going 7, it's Wacha. So there's that.
  6. SOX still haven't lost their habit of abandoning runners in scoring position. This game should have been a blow out.
  7. True. 'Undeserving' is the perfect adjective.
  8. The truth is that when comparing Bogey to Jeter, Bogey is the better all-around player. ECK should have said that.
  9. Leaving Fenway to play ball in a circus tent that's inside a mausoleum is a real downer. I think that describes the whole state.
  10. Yeah, usually there have to be runners on base to drive them in. I'm glad you were aware of that. Actually, I'm surprised you were aware of that.
  11. Also, Story isn't too bad on the defensive side of the ball.
  12. Imho, Story is a 4 tool player. His one tool missing is hitting for high average. He qualifies everywhere else.
  13. When it comes to Bogey, I believe the length of his contract may be more difficult to negotiate than his annual salary.
  14. The benefit of keeping Bogey and Devers is they've already proven they can play at a high-level in Boston. Replacing Bogey to save a few million dollars is a big risk, which we all know backfires too much here.
  15. True. And if the SOX do re-sign Bogey, I believe they have enough current offense where there should be no need to go out and sign a replacement DH. So there's extra money to be used on pitching.
  16. I disagree. Story drives in runs. The biggest impediment is Sale's contract. But, again, not having Price's retained salary next season does give the SOX FO 16 mil to play with.
  17. However, the SOX will not have at least 16 mil in retained salaries nest season. So that would in effect increase the SOX total PR by @17 mil next season.
  18. If the SOX re-sign Bogey at 30/mil/year and extend Devers at 35mil/year, it will increase their current season payroll by @ 33 mil.
  19. Hopefully he'll be a big improvement in hitting the ball, also.
  20. Well, he can't make a better case of late to be re-signed.
  21. If Bogey was any hotter, he wouldn't be allowed near any gas stations.
