  1. Based on the history of the SOX farm system in developing starting pitching, just having a promising guy like Bello is a minor miracle.
  2. When one looks at the Rangers' won/lost record and then notices how good their offense is, they're a perfect example that pitching is a lot more than just 50% of the game.
  3. One major way to improve a BP is for starters to go more than 5 innings more often. This was a numerous fault of the SOX this season. And, yes, injuries had a lot to do with that.
  4. I guess the BIG question is does Whitlock make the SOX better by remaining a reliever or becoming a starter next season?
  5. A Franchy homer leading to you doing 10 shots would make Franchy an enabler.
  6. I would put Pham in between 'Good' and 'Great.'
  7. Dalbec was optioned back to WOO. Kutter has been placed on 15 day IL. Winck has been brought up.
  8. Present day baseball is quite simple. If a team doesn't have a decent BP, that team doesn't have a chance.
  9. D. Dunning vs J. Winckowski Pham(DH) Dugo Bogey Devers Story Casas REF(CF) Cordero(LF) Wong Casas make his SOX debut so that will be interesting to watch. Bello was damned good yesterday against a good Rangers' offense. Arroyo continues to be cursed with injuries. Go SOX!
  10. Rangers will be using an 'opener' today in the form of Dennis Santana.
  11. I think Arryo should take up ballet during the offseason so that he can stretch w/o going on the IL. Also, ballet does improve one's footwork, which is important when playing 1st base.
  12. D. Santana vs B. Bello Pham Dugo Bogey Devers JD Story Arroyo McGuire Kike Unfortunately, I have to attend a retirement party this afternoon. It isn't mine; that ship sailed quite a while ago. Anyway, I am very confident this GT will be in good hands during my absence. Of course, I'll be DVR'ing the game to watch when I return. I realize you are all disappointed that I can't be with you all today, but I will definitely be here for tomorrow's game and, hopefully, I will again originate the GT. Like last night this is a good line-up. If everyone in it can stay healthy, the SOX could cause some havoc in September. All that's left to say is Go SOX!
  13. Tampa is now 5 games out; 4 in the loss column. Another 'gut punch' to Boone.
  14. Max, you do realize that you've described about half the relievers in MLB.
  15. Moon, why do you have to ruin perfectly good posts with facts? Have you no shame?
  16. Might as well, Vegas. I've got nothing better to do.
  17. Bazardo. Perfect description of this SOX season.
  18. Damn, if JD continues hitting, this SOX team could be dangerous in September. Dangerous spoilers. Warning to AL East: SOX are coming for you.
  19. These are patterns one will never hear about from the guys in the SOX booth. Only on these GT's does one get this insightful info.
  20. I wanted to do that, but my filter stopped me. Moon, you have no filter.
  21. If loving Wong is wrong, I don't wanna be right.
  22. Bloom should get some positive points for not signing him.
  23. Like I posted earlier the Rangers starting staff was injury plagued. They just needed a body.
