  1. Did the ball bounce or did Devers bounce? Or both?
  2. Some would still be pissing and moaning about the machines. "Send that pile of metal to the scrap heap."
  3. These pitchers are human not machines. Paxton has been money since he's come back.
  4. SOX also had opportunities to blow this game wide open, but...
  5. Paxton made a mistake on a batter who was due. s*** happens.
  6. The revenge of the Vaz. It doesn't just happen in movies.
  7. Maybe Devers will get it all together in the 2nd half. Just one of my rare positive thoughts.
  8. How about some love for Reyes. He's been special both offensively and defensively. A very good pick-up.
  9. He hasn't been the only one. See Devers and Masa.
  10. Jarren 'Double your pleasure' Duran.
  11. Actually compared to other high priced spreads in MLB this season, Devers is doing much better offensively overall than most of them. Soto, Correa, Machado, and the list goes on. Acuna. jr, imho, is the best everyday player in MLB. Well, I forgot about Ohtani and Judge. It's close.
  12. Lead-off double that doesn't score. We've been exposed to that the last couple of years.
  13. SOX have something very rare in their line-up compared to rest of MLB; two .300 hitters.
  14. After being exposed to the irritating Conehead over the weekend, Youk is almost a relief.
  15. I believe he's referring to The MATS.
  16. Looks like it's 'dress up as an empty seat night' at the ballpark.
  17. 10,000 mistakes? A lot of excellent rock artists and bands came from there, so I'll give them that.
  18. All of the above pales compared to the tragedy of Tony C's life.
  19. A side note on the Herb Score injury. Gil McDougald, who hit Score in the eye with his liner, at the time stated he would retire from baseball if Score's vision didn't return to his injured eye.
  20. On deck batters and pitchers are most at risk for serious injuries on hard hit balls. Herb Score was more closely related to what happened to Houck, except Score was hit in the eye. He did recover and didn't lose eyesight in his injured eye, but he was never the same pitcher afterwards. Batters are the most at risk for serious injuries. Anyone who says baseball isn't a physically dangerous game is an idiot.
  21. i'm not sure a cracked cheek bone is escaping major injury, but, fortunately, his eye was not involved.
  22. Vegas was just repeating what many on this board have already been saying, including myself. If the SOX get into another losing streak(hopefully not) those criticisms will come back around. But, like you said, enjoy the moment. Sweeping the Yankems is always a delight.
