  1. Yogi was Steven Wright(comedian) before there was a Steven Wright.
  2. It happens to the best of them. Fail 7 out of 10 times in MLB and you're a multi-millionaire. Not many professions are so kind.
  3. So you're blaming McGuire for Kluber's performance, even though he caught some other SOX pitchers for 6 innings and they gave up only one run?
  4. Tough decision for Cora when Whitlock returns. He can't put Kluber in the BP, unless it's strictly for clean-up duty. I'm guessing if Kluber gets Klubbed in his next start, he might be either put on the IL or DFA'd.
  5. I looked up "put the ball in play" and there was a picture of Masa.
  6. Looks like Houck is demonstrating to Cora that he doesn't want to return to the BP.
  7. I was actually referring to his season, so far.
  8. Good point. Going from life or death to win or loss is a big difference.
  9. You'd think at this point the SOX batters might be looking for a change-up. I guess not.
  10. Right now I believe Bello has the best change-up on the SOX staff.
  11. Except for Masa, because most of what he saw in Japan was slow junk.
  12. My expectations are never high on west coast trips.
  13. The SOX aren't exactly overworking him.
  14. I wouldn't be that sad if the SOX finished 5-4 on this road trip. I'd be much happier with a better record, but 5-4 appears doable.
  15. Trout went fishing for that one. Nice escape by Houck. And Dugo's arm reputation in RF.
  16. SOX playing from behind? How rare is that?
  17. The Rays keep a rollin' and why not. They're #1 in every major offensive category except for runs and BA, in which they're closely 2nd to Texas. Oh, and their pitching and defense are pretty good, also.
  18. "If you wanna find the truth in life, don't let numbers pass you by." Apologies to Eric Burdon.
  19. Here are the W/L records of the 5 teams whose ERA's are worse than the SOX: White Sox-19-30 Colorado---19-28 Cincinatti--19-27 KC---------14-34 Oakland---10-38 The 24th ranked team in ERA is the Mets at 4.68.
  20. The 5.01 isn't the team's average ERA. It's Sale's ERA, which is the lowest of the SOX starters, not counting Paxton, who's only pitched 11 innings. Btw, the SOX team ERA is at 4.81, which is the 6th worst in MLB.
