    Well, the SOX had the guy they wanted at the plate, but it didn't work out. One has to wonder how many sleepless nights that caused YAZ to have?

    Devers reminds me a little bit of Greg Nettles. Nettles was a good hitter, but a really bad defensive 3rd baseman. He worked on his defense and became one of the top defensive 3rd baseman of his time. Whether that happens to Devers, at this point, doesn't seem likely, but ya never know.

    I remember in '78 when Billy Martin removed Reggie Jackson from RF for not hustling after a fly ball and how Reggie and Billy almost came to blows in the dugout. But it was a different game back then.

    Houston hitting balls at Devers, which I consider grossly unfair.

    I believe Turner would make an excellent hitting coach after he retires. He has, imho, an almost perfect swing.

    YAZ turns 84 today. Happy Birthday. The 2nd greatest SOX not to have a WS ring.

    Duran hurt his toe running to 1st base. Based on Turner and now Duran, running to 1st base seems dangerous.

    Dugo Devers Turner(DH) Masa Duval Casas Story Urias Wong Duran on 15 day IL. Abreu has been brought up to replace him. Abreu has been tearing it up at WOO.

    Perhaps the SOX can carry the momentum of Story actually hitting the ball over to tomorrow's game.

    Like MOON posted earlier; how's Story going to find his groove if he doesn't play? Note to Story: Wherever you're looking, you're very cold.

    You've made it perfectly clear in prior posts that you believe a bad defense is overrated. I disagree, but everyone is entitled to their own opinion. However, I wonder what Cora's opinion is regarding bad defense?

    In regards to the SOX right now, BOTH doesn't exist.

    The SOX FO just signed a guy for over 300 mil and wasn't concerned with both.

    The SOX have a multiple Dick Stuart defense.

    New rule to help ruin the game: Balls are only foul when they're outside the lines inside the ballpark. All balls that travel over 380 feet and leave the ballpark are fair.

    Turner's absence doesn't make that stat very surprising.

    4 strikes and you're out in reference to Duvall's last AB.

    I believe the SOX are still on the losing end of high-priced FA signings. So many have been a bust.

    Oops! Anyway, considering the s*** defense all season, the injuries to starters and relievers, and the grab bag pick-ups by Bloom, the SOX even being in a PO hunt is a minor miracle.

    The worst that can happen is the SOX after tonight are 3-1 on this road trip so far. But there's no bright spot in regards to the SOX defense. Arguably, the worst in MLB. Maybe it isn't even arguable.
