  1. Going to give Rafaela a break because he does lead this team in RBI.
  2. SOX have a good shot of having 2 Golden Sombreros tonight.
  3. Trading the best everyday player on the team is not a good idea. This is directed at those who think trading Duran is a good idea. Not counting Houck, he'd be the last player on the SOX I would trade.
  4. I believe 2 games over .500 is the SOX Peter Principle*. *2 games over is their level of incompetence, hindering further advancement.
  5. BTW, the 'DH' designation s/b be changed to 'DB' (Designated Batter.)
  6. O'Neill is a muscular strike out machine.
  7. Brewers' line-up a little better than the Rays'
  8. Grissom remains Gruesome at the plate.
  9. Duran Abreu Wong Devers O'Neill(DH) Smith Grissom Hamilton Rafaela
  10. I, also, have Apple+, but this exclusivity sucks for the fans who have NESN. i've noticed when PRIME televises a game, it's not exclusive. IOW, those with NESN can still receive the game.
  11. B. Wilson(RH) vs Crawford Let's go for 5 straight. Unfortunately, this game is exclusively on Apple+. Go SOX!
  12. If you see Doyle again, ask him when his HOF induction is scheduled.
  13. Btw, it wasn't f'ing Dent that beat the SOX, it was f'ing Lou Pinella.
  14. If you remember during the long delay of Dent getting back to the plate, Torrez just stood on the mound, lollygagging, and didn't even throw one warm-up pitch.
  15. Also in 1946, where the SOX again lost in 7, Ted Williams played in that series with an injured arm. Ted didn't bring this up until years later.
  16. No game tomorrow. Enjoy your day off.
  17. Sweeping their way back to Fenway.
  18. Here's another thing that came to mind. In both 1967 and 1975 the SOX lost the WS in 7 games. In '67 they entered the WS w/o Conigliaro, who was hit in the eye by a Jack Hamilton fast ball. In 1975 they entered the WS w/o Jim Rice, who was hit in the arm by a bad pitch. Both were major contributors in those respective years.
  19. This fits in nicely with another old SOX player, Don Zimmer, who was beaned seriously enough to initiate the use of batting helmets in MLB.
  20. Having checked the internet on Monty, I discovered that he was the last major leaguer to bat w/o wearing a helmet.
  21. If not, the SOX FO could always give Montgomery a call.
  22. Well, one thing's for sure. Casas won't get Wally Pipped by either of the 2 guys playing 1st at the present.
  23. If Wright was still on the team, the SOX would have a battery of Wright and Wong.
  24. Btw, tonight's HP chUMPIRE has been excellent on his calls. Almost robo-like.
