  1. I discovered recently that the opening day average ticket price at Dodger stadium was $532.00. So I'm guessing hot dogs and beer prices s/b close to $100.00. The mustard is free, though.
  2. The more you pay them, the better your future. Btw, very good post.
  3. Syracuse had the mildest winter in recent history, but it's always good to survive winter. Glad you did, also.
  4. That will be one of the few things I won't blame Cora for.
  5. If I'm wrong, I'll claim someone else posted that using my moniker. Gotta cover all the bases.
  6. I believe the SOX will be tied for 1st after their game tonight. They're due to win an opening game.
  7. Not a bad thing for the best team in the AL to open the season at home against the Angels.
  8. Well, he's never seen from the waist down, so one, fortunately, can't be certain.
  9. The O's new owner said they wouldn't do anything crazy until after they win 4 championships.
  10. The only weakness I spot on the O's is their color guy, Jim Palmer, who is still an irritating A-hole and probably always will be.
  11. I remember when the Astros were the laughing stock of MLB, then they got very good and they've been very good for a long time. Now it's the O's turn. They're gonna be very good for a long time.
  12. I hope they're right, but what that actually points out to me is that Japan also has a serious drug problem.
  13. That would be an improvement over the last two seasons.
  14. On paper that's a pretty impressive line-up. Hopefully, it will be that impressive on grass and dirt.
  15. Ham and scalloped potatoes is one of my favorite meals. I'd definitely fight for that.
  16. Me, also. I believe the offense, defense, and BP can get the SOX over the 78.5.
  17. Damn, I hope the SOX aren't out of contention by late April.
  18. I haven't a clue. Btw, has BC replaced DR as the hot bed for MLB players?
  19. I'm too computer illiterate to set up an over/under poll using 78.5 wins as the benchmark. Might be interesting to have that poll set up.
  20. The 'experts' at MLB Tonight have made their predictions for the 2024 season. They gave the SOX a 5% chance of making the PS. Some here will say that's too high. They also predicted the SOX will finish with a W/L record of 73-89.
  21. Breaking news: The SOX just picked up a starter from the Rays. His name is Uwasawa, who is 30 years old. The trade involved cash going to Tampa. In 10 years of pitching in Japan he had a 3.19ERA. He's a finesse pitcher whose fastball is in the 90mph range.
  22. Now that spring training has ended, here's my 2 cents worth regarding the regular season. I believe offensively the SOX are good. I believe defensively the SOX are good. I believe bullpensively the SOX are good. Of course, the elephant in the room is the starting pitching. The lack of depth of starters is also a major concern. If, and this is a big IF, the SOX SP overachieves, which is possible, I believe they can contend for a PO spot. One thing in the SOX favor is there's no pressure, because most baseball 'experts' have predicted them to finish last. This long opening season west coast road trip will be a big test. If they return to Fenway at around .500, I would be thrilled. Btw, the way the SOX finished in their last 3 spring season games was a good way to jump into the season on Thursday.
  23. Hi Vegas. Long time, no see. Remember that low expectations equate to low disappointment. Hopefully, Story can stay healthy for most of the season because he truly is an awesome defensive SS.
