  1. And 4 days later he's back on the mound. Back in the days where men were men and so were pitchers.
  2. Of course, an ERA of over 4 being average is just a side effect of having 30 teams in MLB.
  3. Dalbec and "keep it rolling" in the same sentence. That's just nuts.
  4. I remember the days of baseball if a starter had an ERA over 4, he was usually sent down.
  5. With 6 days of rest between starts it'll be interesting to see how sharp Houck will be tomorrow.
  6. I'm also predicting that Criswell and Bello will also finish above 4. Not sure about Kutter.
  7. Damn, the SOX were only two wild pitches away from cutting the lead in half.
  8. In his previous 7 major league seasons Pivetta's ERA was under 4 only once. That was last year at 3.97. I'm gonna make a tough prediction and say his ERA at the end of this season will be over 4.
  9. Phils' FO definitely disappointed that they let Pivetta go.
  10. The SOX offense did show up last night. His name is Dave Hamilton.
  11. Of the six starters in the NL with the lowest ERA's the Phils have 4 of them, including their starter tonight.
  12. Sanchez(LH) vs Pivetta Duran Refsnyder O'Neill(DH) Devers Wong Westbrook Dalbec Hamilton Rafaela Hopefully, O'Neill can get thru the game as a DH. Pivetta will need his 'A' stuff tonight. Go SOX!
  13. Bobby has 9 lives and a thousand options.
  14. Like most great pitchers you have to get them early, which the SOX tried to do, but failed. Now it's long past early.
  15. So Houck will have 6 days of rest between starts. I certainly hope this long gap between starts doesn't mess up his timing. But Cora knows best I've been told.
  16. Will Casas be one swing away from the IL again after he returns? The SOX aren't going anywhere, so I see no reason to 'rush' Casas return.
  17. Why can't the SOX get players like KS?
  18. Alligator armed Smith. Players are DFA'd for a reason.
  19. What? No criticism for Devers, whose RBI total, so far, is nothing to write home about.
  20. It blows that a player who is out for the season with an injury still gets his full salary. I say put Gio on Workmens Comp. Same goes for SOS (Same Old Story.)
  21. IMHO, Wheeler is one of the 3 best pitchers in MLB. Hopefully. I've just jinxed him for tonight's game.
  22. Kids in the nieghborhood: "Ms O'Neill can Tyler come out and play?" Ms O'Neill: "Now boys, you know how fragile Tyler is. He's gonna stay in his exercise room until I think it's safe for him to go outdoors." Kids: "Well, can we come in and watch him lift weights?" Ms O'Neill: "OK, but please don't disturb his concentration."
  23. By Houck not starting tonight he will not have a start against the Yankems. I think that sux.
  24. Speaking of all-stars; at this point in the season the only player on the SOX, imho, who has earned a spot on the all-star team is Houck. Maybe Devers, but definitely Houck.
