  1. Slasher, you gave the O's 4A's. You're being extremely kind.
  2. JBJ is an artist in CF. No other CF comes close defensively.
  3. It looked like he was trying to hit it to 3rd. Oh, well, he's only human.
  4. There's nothing good about having to make up postponed games, except when it's the Yankems having to make them up.
  5. Love this bounce back performance by POR tonight, especially under these conditions. Of course, the bad weather is offset by the O's terrible line-up. Chris Davis has to be the biggest everyday albatross in MLB.
  6. Whatever happened to Red Sox South?
  7. Btw, the SOX have been extremely fortunate in not having hardly any rainouts so far this season.
  8. It's official so let's bring on the rain. Hopefully, the SOX can play the next two in Baltimore also. Wouldn't want to play those games later in the season when the O's may not be as bad as they are now.
  9. I'm not sure that having so many really, really bad teams in the league (O's, White Sox, Royals) is actually good for the game. Well, that's not my problem.
  10. Welcome to the machine. The RBI machine.
  11. After I defended Betts' 1st two at bats, he probably had his worst swing of the season his last at bat.
  12. Not that I'm complaining, just the opposite, but this ump has really been squeezing Gausman this inning.
  13. Betts has actually had two well hit balls, but to the wrong part of the field. It's really a good thing when the SOX can win without always having to depend on the 1st 3 hitters.
  14. But, I'm sure, the RAYS are the lesser of the two hates.
  15. I actually hate their ball field more than I hate them. However, if the season ended today, Kevin Cash would get my vote for manager of the year in the AL. I remember Cash being a well-liked player when he played for the SOX.
  16. Another class act has announced his retirement from baseball about a week ago. Chase Utley. Because getting voted into the HOF is such a stat driven endeavor, Utley will probably not make it. However, based on intangibles, I would vote him in. He exemplified what a winning ballplayer was all about.
  17. I'm thinking the O's have had almost as many rainouts as wins so far this year. OK, I'm exaggerating.
  18. I don't know if there is a stat for hitting the ball on the screws the most times at bat, but if there is, Betts, I believe, would also be #1 in that.
  19. Betts is hitting the ball to the wrong part of the field.
  20. Unless my memory is completely shot, it seems Mancini always tends to do well offensively against the SOX.
  21. Reminds me of an old joke dating back to when there was smoking seating on airplanes. Attendant: "Welcome to American Airlines. Would you prefer smoking or non-smoking?" Passenger: "I don't smoke, but I'd prefer the smoking section." Attendant: "Why is that? You must realize that's not the healthiest area to be seated." Passenger: "Thank you for your concern, but that's where the interesting people are." IOW, the game thread is where the interesting people are.
