  1. I actually heard those stats while watching the Cubs' game yesterday afternoon, but the 3 run homer does sound like something the late, great Earl Weaver would say.
  2. I'm not on here when the BRUINS are playing. I'll do my duty tomorrow night and post the OP, but I'll be watching the BRUINS and will record the SOX game to be watched later.
  3. Quality start by Sale and a 3 run homer. Stats don't lie.
  4. He's a perfect bookend for Thornburg.
  5. Rondon actually did better than Brewer.
  6. Rondon looks like most of the pitchers that come thru the RED SOX system.
  7. Not saying I don't trust the RED SOX BP, but I certainly wouldn't accept a check from them. Well, I might accept a check from Barnes. OK, I am saying, except for Barnes, I don't trust the RED SOX BP.
  8. Just informed from the Chicago feed that Babe Ruth swung a 50-54 ounce bat. I believe Teddy Ballgame swung a 30-32 ounce bat.
  9. I don't know about we, but I certainly hope the RED SOX can't. I can't just say SOX when they're playing the pale hose.
  10. That ball was smoked. Devers had no chance. Fortunately, it wasn't lofted or there would have been another 459 foot homer.
  11. That's ok. 422 will leave most ballparks.
  12. Cora could put JD in left and Beni in CF. Chavis could then be the DH. It would weaken the outfield defensively, but it keeps Chavis in the line-up and keeps JBJ out.
  13. Good hitters make pitchers pay for their mistakes.
  14. You can fry an egg on Devers.
  15. That's how a very good pitcher deals with the 1st two batters reaching base.
  16. Anyone can get hurt in a ballgame, whether it's a clean play or a dirty play. I know you know that.
  17. I'm blaming this lead on Devers.
  18. The 2nd best Bond. James Bond.
  19. The hardest thing to do in baseball is hit. Right now Chavis is doing that. When he stops doing that, I'll be glad to have Nunez or Pedey back at 2nd. Well, not really, but I think you get my point.
  20. Your point is well taken, but I doubt Chavis considers himself cannon fodder. He's getting a chance to play and he's taking advantage of it. Also, everyday he's getting professional coaching on playing 2nd base.
  21. If the SOX medical staff later on says it's day-to-day, it's probably serious.
  22. Ironic that Ian Kinsler may be the main reason the SOX were so anxious to re-sign Pearce. If Kinsler doesn't make that error in game 4, the SOX sweep and there's no game 5 for Pearce to go crazy.
