I actually heard those stats while watching the Cubs' game yesterday afternoon, but the 3 run homer does sound like something the late, great Earl Weaver would say.
I'm not on here when the BRUINS are playing. I'll do my duty tomorrow night and post the OP, but I'll be watching the BRUINS and will record the SOX game to be watched later.
Not saying I don't trust the RED SOX BP, but I certainly wouldn't accept a check from them. Well, I might accept a check from Barnes.
OK, I am saying, except for Barnes, I don't trust the RED SOX BP.
Cora could put JD in left and Beni in CF. Chavis could then be the DH. It would weaken the outfield defensively, but it keeps Chavis in the line-up and keeps JBJ out.
The hardest thing to do in baseball is hit. Right now Chavis is doing that. When he stops doing that, I'll be glad to have Nunez or Pedey back at 2nd. Well, not really, but I think you get my point.
Your point is well taken, but I doubt Chavis considers himself cannon fodder. He's getting a chance to play and he's taking advantage of it. Also, everyday he's getting professional coaching on playing 2nd base.
Ironic that Ian Kinsler may be the main reason the SOX were so anxious to re-sign Pearce. If Kinsler doesn't make that error in game 4, the SOX sweep and there's no game 5 for Pearce to go crazy.
