IMHO, the most impressive stat that Pedro put on the board was in the 2000 season. He had an ERA of 1.74, the lowest in the AL. The second lowest ERA was Clemens at 3.70. Of course, this was during the steroid era.

What started on June 25th was more than a hot streak, it was a miracle. I believe a team is only allocated one miracle per season. Beating the Yankems 2 out of 3 at Yankem Park, especially with the Sox current offense, would, IMHO, require another miracle. -
After further investigation it was a sports writer named Bob Gallas he choked.

Years later, long after he retired he was arrested for attempting to choke a White Sox announcer to death. Unfortunately, the announcer wasn't Steve Stone.

Gray ends up 18-5. To have that record on a team that ranks 20th in runs scored gets my vote for the Cy Young.

Pierssal, who by the way was an excellent outfielder, hit a HR and ran around the bases backwards. He also climbed up the Pesky Pole during a game.
