    If I had to guess, I'd say it's his shoulder. He can still be successful, but he will be a different pitcher. He won't get away with mistakes at 91 that he got away with when he was throwing 96-97.

    I heard that Betts bowled a 300 game recently. I believe he's done that about 9 times.

    The A's have good pitching but are offensively challenged. Sale looked good tonight, but, again, it is Oakland.

    If the SOX are paying Hembree more than $15.00/hr, then he is overpaid.

    The court has never really defined 'obscenity.' What a lot of these ML players are paid would be a good example of 'obscene.' The blame for this 'obscenity' falls squarely on the owners. Charlie Finley, one-time owner of the A's and probably the smartest owner in baseball, saw the future of the game after the Curt Flood decision and he sold the club.

    If the SOX were in the NFL with a 1-4 start, it might be time to panic. But, shite, this MLB is a marathon. Every team goes into a slump; it just looks worse at the beginning of the season.

    Breaking News: In the last 100 years of baseball the only team, other than the SOX, to open the season on an 11 game road trip was the 1980 Twins.

    I believe the 2 everyday players on the SOX who have the best shot of duplicating their season from last year are JD and VAZ.
