  1. Interesting that going into this game the SOX and Angels have the exact same record against teams >.500. 23-37.
  2. It makes no sense. I believe the ASTROS are 51-16 at home this year.
  3. I'm just sorry the SOX have to go back to Fenway. I've been a fan of the SOX since the late 50's and I've never said that before.
  4. Another base running blunder. There's been a ton of those this season.
  5. One of the best pure hitters in the game. Power and average. Replacing Ortiz is impossible, but JD has been more than capable.
  6. When it comes to SOX starting pitching, it's E-rod and 4 days of rain.
  7. Big moment in the game. Why not bring in their best reliever Workman? It's not like he's an established closer. Oh, well. Just a thought.
  8. Still don't understand how a player can be MVP on a below .500 ball club.
  9. When you go to the well too often, sometimes there's no water left.
  10. I guess this could be called an opener.
  11. I'm sorry, but I can't get excited about a 4 inning start, especially with our already overworked BP.
  12. Good point. I'm not defending Cora, but when a team's two best pitchers have had a recent history of breaking down during the season, that may have been a factor. However, there was no sane reason to baby Porcello or E-rod.
  13. I mentioned this on a post a while back. Imagine if Nolan Ryan was pitching during this pitch count era. How many game would he have lasted more than 5 innings?
  14. I agree. However, my concern with EO, besides the fragile arm, is pitch count. How many 5+ innings will the SOX get from this guy?
  15. Based on JD's 23 million dollar pay check from Boston next year, I highly doubt he opts out after this season.
  16. One good thing about JD's lack of prowess defensively is that there probably won't be any high bidders from the NL for his services.
  17. I'm pretty sure the SOX will pass Tampa, but, yes, passing a second team will not be easy, but not impossible. I was rooting for the Yankems to beat the A's earlier today. Rooting for the Yankems is not easy for me to do and I sure don't want to make it a habit. Sometimes one has to things he/she doesn't like for the greater good.
  18. JD is a DH. Anything he brings defensively is an unexpected bonus.
  19. After the 2018 season Cora was on an ego trip, believing he could do know wrong. At least this season has brought him back down to earth.
