    I have a bad feeling about this series in Houston. The Astros are much better than their present record and are due to explode. Hopefully, they can wait until Friday.

    The Rays are 1st in defense, 2nd in runs scored, and 3rd in pitching in the AL. Interesting comparison with the SOX in that the SOX have a .259BA while the Rays as a team are at .232. Yet, both teams are a hair apart in runs per game. Can anyone say timely hitting? Another interesting stat is the Rays' OBP is .318 and the SOX are at .319. It appears the Rays have been more patient and selective at the plate. One last stat is the Rays' defense has prevented 29 runs, which is 2nd only to the Padres' 34 in MLB. Combine this well-balanced team with a very good and innovative manager and an excellent FO and they are very much for real and are probably the team to beat in the AL East. And this is the nicest thing I'll ever say about anything in Florida.

    Fun Fact: Of the 72 MLB pitchers who have at least 45 innings pitched, E-Rod ranks 69th in ERA at 5.64.

    Except for W/L, which is the most misleading stat in evaluating a pitcher, E-Rod's more revealing lifetime stats are below average to poor.

    Based on E-rod's last few starts, I'd have preferred Richards starting today. Now, having posted this, E-rod will probably give a quality start. One can only hope.

    He's no longer the worst reliever in the SOX pen. In fact, for the last month he's been one of the best.

    Tampa has been excellent at timely hitting. They K'd 16 times today, but made contact at opportune times. They have won 14 of their last 15.

    True, but he is still owed 230 million by the Yankems from this season thru 2028.

    Yankems' Stanton in the last 3 years: 2019---18 games played. 2020---23 games played. 2021(so far)--34 games played. So far, an excellent signing for the Yankems.
