  1. One thing that the greatest DH could do. He could play 1st base on occasion and never embarrass himself.
  2. I agree that JBJ should know that JD is a DH.
  3. There's no place to hide a good hitter/no glove in the field. That also holds true for JD.
  4. Betts is on the bench. It would have been a long run to back up JD. But where the hell was JBJ?
  5. One can't be an ACE and consistently go 5 innings. The closest thing the SOX have to an ACE right now is E-rod. I never thought I'd post that.
  6. Is Travis the power hitting LF the SOX have been looking for? Might as well have him play more games to find out.
  7. JD has no will-power not to swing at low outside pitches.
  8. That was a pop hit. Similar to RADAR LOVE by Golden Earring.
  9. Based on his stats, the ENDS justifies the MEANS.
  10. Watching the Padres at Cubs game. A ball was hit to Moe Lester and he threw a 2 bouncer to 1st which the batter beat out. The opposition should just bunt against that moron, because he is incapable of throwing the ball to 1st base or any base for that matter.
  11. D. Price 7-2 3.16ERA vs J. Means 7-5 2.94ERA It would be very beneficial for the SOX to get more than 5 innings from Mr Price.
  12. Cashner would be scheduled to pitch Sunday's game against his former teammates.
  13. A great 6 innings. When he starts giving the SOX 7 innings, I will be more thrilled.
  14. Good point. I will consider him a bitter or a hatter. Seriously, I would call him a hitter. I'm not hard to get along with.
  15. I'm presently employing a .250 BA as the defining line on whether a player when he comes to bat should be referred to as a batter or hitter. Under .250 he's a batter; over .250 he's a hitter. I think I'm being very generous using .250.
  16. If it wasn't for batters like Sandy, baseball games would last 4 or 5 hours on a regular basis.
  17. It's great that catchers wear masks or they'd be on the IL on a regular basis. What's hard to understand is why it took hockey goalies so long to adopt the mask? Crazy Canadians.
  18. It's always "what have you done for me lately?"
  19. That's the trouble with 'gurus'. They could die, be incarcerated, or even be in witness protection.
  20. I think I posted this a while back, but in '41 during the same period of time that Joe D. had his 56 game streak, Williams hit for a higher BA.
  21. Great 2 innings of work from Walden.
  22. Now that Betts has got his groove on, I doubt there's a MLB team that has a better 1-2-3 in their batting order. Captain Obvious agrees.
  23. I believe scoring a run in 56 straight games is tougher than getting a hit in 56 straight games. The getting a hit has already been done.
  24. That was a nice 7th. Economical.
  25. You are correct. WTF wants a well-rested starting staff in October.
