    One reason to watch the game is all this Machado nonsense and hysteria. Wouldn't it be just like Baltimore to want him to represent them one last time, have a deal in place to announce right after the game, then watch him tear an ACL, tear a labrum or get hit in the wrist during his one inning of being on the field? Priceless.

    That is correct, he is pretty much dominating AAA. Time to put up or shut up, enough of the babying of the pitcher's psyche. This is the perfect opportunity to put Beeks in the rotation for a four or five start run and see what he's made of. He can't learn from his mistakes if he is yo-yo-ing back and forth.

    So we have Devers hurting himself sliding head first, Vasquez breaking a finger sliding head first, Bogaerts sliding head first into first on several occasions just daring the injury Gods. Is this a subset of one of the few weaknesses of the Sox, which is base running in general?

    It may have to be twelve but that's still all right. If the Sox play .500 ball they still will end with 98 wins which is pretty dang good.

    So much for that "team friendly" contract he signed. On the bright side there is only 48 million left which is nothing compared to what we got for Castillo's 72 million, Sandoval's 81 million for 2016-2019 (plus buyout) or the 127 million left on "King Fortnite's" contract.

    Best case scenario, Swihart actually INCREASES his trade value instead of where he is right now, which is ZERO.

    So if his father was a gangsta and wore saggy pants and had five foot untied shoelaces it would be ok? It is called a uniform for a reason. Uniform in the dictionary means "the same". Respect the game, wear the uniform correctly or go play on a pick up softball team.

    Dombrowski has one of the worst track records in making any bullpen related deals. One could argue his only success (Kimbrel) was due to overpaying. His ineptitude probably cost the Tigers a World Series title during their window of opportunity (and helped the Sox).

    Here's an even more outlandish thought. Price and some minor league flotsam to Reds for Votto and Iglesias. Both contracts from Reds total about 148 million. Price would be banished to that bandbox and would go so insane (bonus) he would have to have Astro registered as a "comfort animal" so he could accompany him to the mound on days he pitches.
