  1. Let's go with the AL: Twins at Yankees ---- Yankees in 4 games (a lot of dingers in this one, still I believe the Yanks will keep their dominance over the Twinkies) Rays at Astros ---- Rays in 5 (this might be more like wishful thinking than anything else, but I have the feeling that the Rays will give them hell)
  2. Now it's time for the division series, let's start with the NL Nationals at Dodgers ---- Dodgers in 4 games (there's a big difference between those two teams) Cardinals at Braves ---- Cardinals in 5 (Braves are good but very young and the Card are in a roll)
  3. I still think get the Angels job, Girardi the one with the Cubs and after the Dodgers fail again to win the WS, they will fire Roberts and hire Scioscia
  4. National League: Brewers at Nationals ---- Nationals (Scherzer will be hard to beat but the Brewers are inspired) American League: Rays at Athletics ----- Athletics (The A's are in a roll but the pitching (specially the BP is on the Rays side)
  5. They really need to fire the whole training staff, this more than just "bad luck"
  6. What about the Angels? They have shared the DH position between Ohtani and Pujols, but Pujols has been playing 1B for almost 100 games this season and Ohtani can play the OF; they might rotate JD, Ohtani and Pujols between the DH, 1B and one OF spot, Calhoun is a FA this year that might happen. The Angels are motivated, they want to take advantage of prime Trout and will try to go all the way, they have the cash and might get Maddon during the offseason, it's a long shot but you never know
  7. Confirmed Brad Ausmus is out, looks like the Angels want a reunion with Madon
  8. The Twinkies are no longer the joke they used to be, now they are a real contender, some of their previous playoff appearances were more like a result of the poor division the were playing at. I still believe the Yankees will beat them, but it won't be easy; one thing is for sure, there will be a lot of HRs
  9. With this proposal he will be signing a 4th year for 5 Mill, the Sox are the only part in this deal getting something
  10. I hear you, but two years ago the "injury prone" label was attached to him, the Sox took a risk there and it worked for both.
  11. I was reviewing JD contract terms, if he opts-out he will be leaving "only" 60 millions on the table, including his opt-out buyout; looking at the terms, he's in a good position, he will be looking for a contract topping that number; I'm sure somebody will offer 3yrs/75Mill + an option depending on health or even 4 years straight up, it's a win-win for the Sox and JD, the Sox get their payroll flexibility and JD more money in FA
  12. It looks like Joe Girardi is the front runner for the Cubs job and I read a rumor somewhere that the Angels will let Brad Ausmus go to hire Maddon
  13. The batters didn't look very good against the Rays in this past series, I hope this is only a bump in the road and not the beginning of a longer slump, this is something we don't need 3 games away from the playoffs
  14. I wonder if the Astros would take a flyer on him, he was never a power pitcher and I understand he sits now in 90-92 MPH with his FB and he will be 31 years for the whole 2020 season; a nice reclamation project for them
  15. Betts might take them to the next level, they have the talent in the ML roster right and a very strong farm. If they think they can resign him they might go for it.
  16. I don't know if it was OK, but it was partially accepted by society.
  17. If the Sox trade him, they can include some cash to increase the return which will make Betts affordable for small market teams with good farm systems. BTW, I think Betts is more a 6-8 WAR player, still very very good, the only player I'd bet on having over 8 WAR every year is Trout. The dark horse for Betts, if the Sox decide to ship him out, could be the White Sox, they have the cash and are very close to become relevant again.
  18. With Social Networks and internet now is easy to expose any type of behavior (good or bad) than before.
  19. I was expecting Severino back, but never dreamed of anything close to his performance so far, hope he can keep it all the way to October
  20. Never seen anything close to what the Yankees have accomplished so far this season, this should be some kind of a record on so many guys on the IL during the season (from the 25 man roster). If somebody would have mentioned this amount of injuries, I'd had predicted something in the neighborhood of 80 wins. For me the MVP this season is Cashman, his best job so far as a Yankee GM, what a way to build depth in the roster, he practically struck gold in most of the trades and under the radar signings. The most underrated GM in the league, I guess the "big wallet" bashing no longer applies to him. I agree with Moon, the real test is about to start.
  21. I just received an alarm on this WTF
  22. I was thinking something in the 2yrs / 10 millions plus incentives, which can take his salary to 7.5M if he comes back healthy, if not, it gives him security and some peace of mind while he's in rehab
  23. This is a f'ing joke, somebody needs to get fired in the yankees training stuff, there are too many injuries to put it only in the "bad luck" basket Betances is in a bad spot right now, he is set to become a FA this offseason, instead of a big payday (something close to what Britton got) he's now in the bubble. I'm sure the Yankees will take care of him, they have done this in the past, I'm sure they will do it again for him.
  24. Great outing for Severino, far more than what I expected. I hope he doesn't overthrow and injures himself trying to be in top form to fast. Its ok to push for it a little, but hope it keeps the foot in the break for a little more before he goes full force, still three weeks for playoffs.
  25. Hicks out for the season too, this is getting uglier
