  1. Trade Espinoza.....Red Sox cannot develop pitchers. So much for adding 'pitching' gurus on the staff. What a f***ing joke. If I'm Henry, I'd clean house. If DD doesn't want to do it, then he needs to go. Good grief.
  2. Can we start Kimbrel every game so we can stay in the game after 1st inning?
  3. we definitely need to trade Espinoza....Red Sox can not develop pitchers. Trade him before he loses his value....anyone watching the game? E Rod is a freaking joke.
  4. this team is a f***ing joke.....Brentz for 2nd time throws to wrong base.....you keep the hitter off 2nd base.
  5. where did Brentz learn to play LF....that's f***ing twice he's gone to third base instead of 2nd.....are these guys coached? Its just inexcusable...jesus h christ.
  6. You called it with Bradley in CF and Betts in right. Bradley is our best CF, period. At some point I'd like to see every high ceiling guys at their best position. If Moncada projects out as LF then Benintendi should be moved. Maybe not today but at some point. I just don't think 3B ultimately is Shaw's best position. I don't see a DH in our organization. We may have to live with Hanly because of his contract but it's a big drop off from Papi. Question is will Vasquez improve his hitting before Swihart becomes adequate defensive catcher? Who is our 1B? Keep HANLEY there and acquire a power bat to DH? Do we make a blockbuster deal to acquire pitching or wait until 2017 FA market?
  7. Pedy is under contract through the 2021. His body will not hold up. Not the way he plays.
  8. I blame the whole Xander experiment on JF's love affair with Drew. It really bothered Xander. And for what? Don't get me started on our manager.
  9. MLB.com has 42 players listed and Castillo is not on the list. The whole point of placing him on waivers was to avoid paying $3m luxury tax penalty on his &10M annual value. The question is can we do the same to Panda? Obviously there's no point in doing it if we're under the cap. There's no penalty. I worked for a big company and new COO would flush out all the expenses and put it all on previous management. That's what DD is doing. Price is on him but not Panda and Hanley's contracts.
  10. Moon You can simply ignore Clay Buchholtz. His option is not vested. There is no f***ing way he'll be on Sox roster for 2017. At best, his skinny ass will be traded.
  11. Moon, don't you have to factor in playing at high level college programs? Was Benitendi's college at bats meaningless?
  12. it's hard for me to believe they would send down a hot bat
  13. He's out of options so it will be interesting when Hanigan comes back.....
  14. I didn't mean to dismiss Ortiz....both his on field and what he brings to the team. I believe he had much to do with the success of our young players. Its truly laughable to think Hanley can step into his role. I don't think anyone thinks that. What I was getting at was that there appears to be some power bats available in FA market for 2017. But you can hear crickets when it comes to starting pitching in FA market. I don't write coherently most of the time. Just a fan.
  15. I have no facts to back it up but to me Sox have lost more 50/50 balls than the opponent, to use a basketball term. What happened to Rangers last night has been happening to us. Despite that we're in the thick of pennant race. We need for Clay and E Rod to step up to the plate. Lets exhaust all internal options, see what Kelly can do out of bullpen. I would like to trade for the Atlanta RP but not the starter. A power pitcher can survive in AL East....see Kimbrel. All these guys whine and bitch about not getting to start but hey why don't you do something about it? You know, have a better command of your pitches and quit walking .220 hitters. I'm not motivated by this being Ortiz' last year to make a trade. We can sign a FA to replace Big Papi.
  16. It's pretty brutal when Hanigan is paired with Wright. He has as much trouble catching it as hitters have hitting it....
  17. There's no point in adding more mediocrity to our starting pitching staff. That will be another contract we'll be stuck with. Are we in agreement that in a wild card playoff game, we'd start Steven Wright, especially against Toronto/Baltimore?
  18. Isn't this what we want? C Swihart 1B Shaw 2B Pedy SS Xander 3B Moncada LF Benintendi CF Bradley RF Betts Sign a big bat as DH and use Hanley to stall while Moncada/Benintendi develops. If Travis > Shaw, than Shaw becomes a valuable bench player. He'll keep Devers and see if his power develops. All kinds of flexibility exists....
  19. How things would have been different had we signed Beltre.....
  20. How did our pitching go so bad? Oh wait, Lester gone, Lackey gone....
  21. Are we all in agreement that Benintendi and Moncada are Sox top two prospects? Devers and Espinoza are not as close to reaching Fenway. Would Atlanta do a deal with only one of the two of former along with other top 10 prospects? Assuming Moncada can play LF, who has higher ceiling? Our offense has been a pleasant surprise but without Wright, are we not looking at third straight last place finish? Our pitching staff is in shambles and that's after acquiring Price and Kimbrel.
