  1. good recap BUT How long do we baby Whitlock? Tell me why he can't pitch 200 innings? He'll be 26, 3 years removed from TJ. Why do we baby these athletes? Get me a MAN. Tired of these wusses. And I'm the president of Whitlock fan club. Of course with average start of 5 IP they would need to start 40 games and that's not happening.
  2. You're saying Rays have only had 5 starts of 7 IP or more? I guess they have great bullpen. Or is it 10 when you add in Glasnow? I'm little confused with(out all year). You mean he's now out for the year?
  3. 7+ INNINGS BY STARTERS 7.0 4/07 Eovaldi vs TB 7.0 4/25 E Rod vs SEA 7.0 4/27 Richards vs NYM 7.0 5/08 Richards vs BAL 7.2 6/03 PereZ vs HOU 7.2 6/28 Eovaldi vs NYY 7.0 7/01 Eovaldi vs KC 7.0 7/04 Pivetta vs OAK 7.2 7/24 Eovaldi vs NYY 7.0 8/11 Eovaldi vs TB 10 Games Total Anyone know how to get this for other AL teams? I had to go pitcher by pitcher for Sox. It's crazy to think no one has gone 8 innings. Are hitters more patient, driving up the pitch count?
  4. YES WE'VE SEEN ENOUGH OF MARWIN, CORA'S FAVORITE. Yes, I've seen enough of Dalbec. His whiff rate is hurting the team. IF THEY DO BRING BACK SANTANA THEN I WILL QUESTION EVERYONE'S INTELLIGENCE OF BASEBALL OPS. Free Agent Misses Richards Perez Marwin Santana Two jokers at trade deadline
  5. Nice job by Cora leaving Valdez in there to be humiliated....I don't care what the lead is, you can't do that to someone not named Workman.
  6. Nice job Cora....you just destroyed Valdez for rest of season. What the hell.
  7. Give Rays some momentum going for tomorrow's game....they know they can get to our bullpen.
  8. What the f*** did I just say? You can't let him die out there. Horrible manager.
  9. You can't let him die out there, I don't care what the lead is.....
  10. 7+ INNINGS BY STARTERS 7.0 4/07 Eovaldi vs TB 7.0 4/25 E Rod vs SEA 7.0 4/27 Richards vs NYM 7.0 5/08 Richards vs BAL 7.2 6/03 PereZ vs HOU 7.2 6/28 Eovaldi vs NYY 7.0 7/01 Eovaldi vs KC 7.0 7/04 Pivetta vs OAK 7.2 7/24 Eovaldi vs NYY 7.0 8/11 Eovaldi vs TB Eovaldi appears to be our ACE. Chris Sale has 16. Cy Young had 749 but who's counting?
  11. Wander Franco, #1 prospect in MLB comes in at .693 ops......this game is really hard...
  12. Brasier threw 10 pitches to retire the side in his first rehab assignment last night...
  13. Pitch count after 5....Rays 128, Eovaldi 62
  14. It does seem like we're beginning to get reinforcements for our tired and weary troop. Moving both Richards and Perez to the pen signals good sign. Also relieving Vaz of so many at bats when he's struggling should help the team. Hell the back up catcher is hitting over .300 since the All-Star break, albeit small sample size. And looks like Brasier is coming back. That should be huge lift to the pen. Oh yes, Schwarber will be a Sox favorite. He's just that type of player. Houck despite two pitches and can only go once around the line-up reputation by many here is now solidly entrenched in the starting rotation. Then there's Chris Freakin' Sale.
  15. OK, I'm not smart enough to know the difference between the two and what I said.......I'm sure you are correct. Let me say it another way....he's not inducing as many swing and misses on his breaking ball....I have no stats to back it up other than watching him pitch.....is that an accusation or observation? I'm assuming observation is what is preferred. Just so you know, I did say I thought he was a wuss before this season. Then I jumped on his bandwagon like a fair weather fan. Now I think he's reverting back. 1st part is probably considered accusation, second and third part are my observations. I do love the charts introduced by MVP....
  16. Someone here gave me s*** when I said Barnes looked different today and he did back in April/May. He argued his stats aren't much different. My point is Barnes is not breaking off his curveball as he did earlier. Damn the stats. It's matter of time the difference was going to catch up. You can't deceive the eyes forever. Workman had lucky outings where he was hit hard but right at someone. You can't then say well he pitched without given up a run. Stats alone can't measure someone's worth. The guy was getting hammered.
  17. Just wished he'd display some of his power....1 HR in 118 AB
  18. For sure, we've been missing some of that...
  19. 67 pitches after 5 innings...50 for strikes....
  20. I don't get why anyone would opt out of $19.375M contract to earn $15M for 3 years. I would pay JD $26M for two years beginning 2023 assuming he's healthy. I don't get the math on opting out. If I'm JD, I'd roll the dice on becoming an free agent for 2023 season.
  21. I'll add an addendum. We are NOT the only team in MLB that's overworked. Can we just quit being bunch of wussies? It's all part of game. If we have bunch of old positional players that require more frequent rest, well then it's time to get some younger players. If our pen is 'overworked', then bring up fresh arms from the farm. Oh you say we don't have any quality arms in the farm? Then we should have traded for one. Oh but we didn't want to give up prospects to acquire quality pen help, then SHUT THE f*** UP. We are what we are...... I'm happy that we're in the playoff chase. It's time for these men to be professionals that they are. Let's not make excuses for them.
  22. Good point. That's why not one player makes over $10M and they only have two players that have contract for 2022. Pretty amazing.
