  1. The injury is well documented. The bad teammate stuff to me seems to be a bunch of fans watching a game and thinking “I would not do that” and then leaping to conclusions
  2. He talks about that. https://www.audacy.com/national/sports/nomar-clears-air-on-why-he-sat-against-yankees-in-2004-game
  3. Totally irrelevant, but Pyne’s dad is from my hometown. I went to high school with a couple of Drew’s uncles…
  4. Specifically he would be Darren Lewis…
  5. The trade worked out perfectly, but he has talked about the frequent injuries and his depression. Sox fans act like he was frustrated with the Sox not paying him and him taking it out on the team, but he played for 5 years after that 2004 season and only played 57 games at SS over those seasons. He wasn’t holding back on the Red Sox…
  6. Yeah I get all that. But I’m not one to condemn without proof of some sort…
  7. His name came up in a lot of PED conversation, but was there ever any evidence he used anything illegal? Bear in f during his career, lots of things are still legal…
  8. That whole account of Nomar’s behavior during that game has been refuted multiple times by numerous members of the Red Sox organization, yet somehow because some Boston media clown who never talked to Nomar (presumably Steve Buckley, who hated Nomar for reasons no human ever knew or could possibly understand) decided yo use the work “sulking” and tried to make out about a contract, that story has stuck. Francona has even said Nomar was ready to pinch hit for Trot Nixon (despite Nomar having two swollen Achilles’ tendons), but the Yankees didn’t bring in the lefty who has been warming up…
  9. No, Valentin. Although your hatred of Nomar feels a tad misplaced. Injuries slowed him down far too young, but he was one helluva player…
  10. Duvall’s best part of his game is his defense. Having him on a DH list is like making JBJ a DH candidate…
  11. Team player!!
  12. That’s the exact opposite of a discount…
  13. Well then I will start harassing him on some random 813 number. If you know any of his digits, it would be a big help probability-wise…
  14. I’ve been trying Bloom all day to go get Winker, but no answer. I suppose it’s entirely possible that it isn’t Bloom that I’m texting. Not like I have his cell number. I just sorta guessed and assumed it was in 617…
  15. They need someone to replace the irreplaceable Adam Frazier. Enmanuel Valdez should suffice…
  16. This thread makes no mention of the Sox all time team leader in DRS - Mike Aviles…
  17. Sometimes they just give it to a player who fields s as though his glove was made of solid gold…
  18. As much as Bogaerts got the generous spot here, no one is even talking about Correa who was much worse…
  19. MLB has rules for how many AB are required to qualify for a batting title. They have no such rules for how many innings one has to play in the field in order to qualify go out a Gold Glove…
  20. Jorge Mateo was better in every metric and got completely ignored…
  21. Well really all that matters is what Jerry DiPoto thinks. He’ll probably consider it more once he’s done negotiating that Tommy Milone / Blake Snell trade. No word on Enmanuel Valdez for Winker?
  22. High on Bassitt. Not so much on Rodon…
  23. Of course if Seattle plays hardball on Hosmer the Sox could always offer 2b Enmanuel Valdez (.918 OPS across 3 leages in 2022) for Winker…
  24. I can name another player not covered by Mariners’ fans and (more importantly) management - Jesse Winker. Let’s not pretend the Mariners only acquire players that make the collective nipples of the fans perk up; you guys did acquire Carlos Santana last year. And BTV values Hosmer more than they value Winker…
  25. I couldn’t think of anyone else for CF. My problem with Kiermaier is he gets hurt a lot and can’t hit against anyone but the Red Sox. But if the Sox sign Judge and Kiermaier, then trade Hosmer to Seattle for the disgruntled and unwelcome Jesse Winker for DH. (They’re issues with Winker include his lack of desire to work on his fielding. So if he’s a DH, who cares?) Hosmer has a full NTC, but so far we only know he doesn’t want to go to a rebuilding team. Seattle, as an ALDS participant, certainly is not one, and their starting 1b (Carlos Santana) is a free agent. Certainly Hosmer would prefer starting in Seattle over watching Casas in Boston. And while Hosmer isn’t exactly the most exciting player, Seattle might enjoy his minimum wage salary…
