  1. Cal Quantrill DFAd https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2023/11/guardians-dfa-cal-quantrill.html
  2. And if you’re at a state school like UMass or URI or Texas A&M, you’re also funded by state taxes and your coaches are state employees…
  3. Easy one. That’s taxpayer money, not university money.
  4. He tells whiny customers “I’ll get the manager”…
  5. BTV? If they think the Red Sox could get Dylan Cease and Luis Robert all for a Double A shortstop, they’re clearly using LSD. Talk to them after the chartreuse elephant carrying the inflatable road map has left the room…
  6. I’d keep Mauricio Llovera over Jacques, and I would have DFAd Llovera weeks ago. Right after Weiss and Gillaspie…
  7. That Joe Jacques is still on the roster ahead of even one of these lottery tickets is making me lose faith in Breslow…
  8. Sign Garver. Trade Kutter Crawford for Brendan Donovan C - Garver/Wong 1b - Casas 2b - Donovan 3b - Devers SS - Story LF - Duran CF - Rafaela RF - Verdugo DH - Yoshida BN - Refsnyder, Reyes, Urias/Valdez/McGuire
  9. We have that guy already, per my edit that was added during your response…
  10. You don’t avoid Juan Soto because he hits left-handed or only plays LF. You acquire Soto and fix the rest of the team to fit around him…
  11. What do people want from a 2b? ( Or, more importantly, think Breslow wants?) This could go in a couple directions. Good glove? Leadoff type? If you want right-handed pop and good plate discipline, Urias might be the guy…
  12. If they even get 2 SPs at all, it’s very possible the second one meets your criteria for a #4. But if that pitcher keeps Houck and Whitlock in the pen, that’s still an upgrade…
  13. Defense is clearly not a concern, which means Duran in CF is probably still on the table…
  14. Only one? The Mets traded their shortstop to upgrade to Francisco Lindor…
  15. In the story I heard, that baby deserved it…
  16. Interesting. And Clevinger felt like he could be the sneaky bargain in this FA class…
  17. Also this kind of thing happens all the time, usually for economic reasons. I heard the Dodgers once upgraded their right field position by trading Alex Verdugo for another right fielder…
  18. Why Flaherty? Is he even a #5 anymore?
  19. I thought he meant unload Sale’s contract and use the money for a better SP. The real issue is Sale is in his final year and his contract just isn’t the obstacle it used to be. The Sox are either going to spend or they’re not and I’m not sure Sale and his contract are that much of an impact…
  20. Quite possibly also know as the “not as good” version as well…
  21. Casas’ defense shouldn’t mute any discussions. He’s awful as well…
  22. Sign me up for that. He’s not a good 3b. And the notion that he will become one by taking 10 extra minutes of grounders per day is laughable. Why not, instead of signing an ace, make Crawford the ace and have him just work harder to get better? 10 extra minutes per day and learn a cutter? That should do it. (This might be sarcasm…
  23. He’s entitled to his theories. Not like Cora reads these boards to get ideas…
  24. Right now soxprospects lists the bench as McGuire, Reyes, Refsnyder and Valdez. That’s their guess. Valdez might wind up learning some 1b, or (more likely), the Sox bring in someone like Wil Myers or Garrett Cooper who has some 1b experience and can play the position adequately, and potentially handle other backup roles as well…
  25. Agreed. Duran has at the very least earned a shot…
