  1. They cost him in the first, they saved him in the 5th.
  2. Agree but in a way, I hope he stays with and plays a HOF career entirely with the Guardians.
  3. I guess you’re right; I do recall at least once against Houston(?) as well. I don’t get every game.
  4. I had no problem with it. If he gets caught, Betts leads off with a clean count. They got an even better outcome.
  5. Should have been out of the 1st with no runs scored and this inning’s run was a ground ball single, a stolen base, a bunt and an infield chopper. He’s not as sharp as he can be but other than Lindor (who can hit anybody), no one has hit the ball hard on him. He’s pitched better than the results today.
  6. One pitch in the middle in 2 innings snd Chavis hit a bullet. The rest have been on the edges.
  7. Would Pedroia even want to coach? His kids are around 10, 7 and 5. Perhaps he’d like to see them in their own pursuits.
  8. If the Yankees announced today that Ellsbury was retiring but would be come a base running coach/consultant for $35 million (about what they still owe him) for, oh, the next 10 years, everyone here would be screaming bloody murder. The Red Sox and Pedroia signed a contract and each has to live up to the terms of the contract. The Sox have to pay him, and Pedey has to try and do whatever it takes to be able to take the field, even if he physically can't. There is no way around it unless Pedroia voluntarily walks away.
  9. CB Buckner isn’t capable of fixing a game. He’s an equal opportunity incompetent.
  10. If you trade him you need to get someone who can play the OF. Bryce Brentz ain’t going to cut it.
  11. And who do you play in LF? Everyday.
  12. That describes the NBA to a tee.
  13. I would, since there’s nobody in the system right now who’s ready for regular OF duty.
  14. He's in to try and finish the inning. But it does mean Velazquez will see extensive duty tonight and that ain't good.
  15. We got Braves-Cards where I am; what happened to Price?
  16. Williams wasn’t fired until 1969.
  17. There are a lot of really good CFs right now; too many Sox fans just don’t want to hear it.
  18. Applying the same logic, so should have Franconia. But does 2007 happen without him?
  19. The difference in this game is defense, pure and simple.
  20. 2 earned runs for the Astro’s; the one that scored on Bogie’s throw was earned since the runner would have scored anyway even had the throw been perfect. But the throw allowed the trail runner to get to 3rd where he scored on the sac fly.
