  1. Hey Notin. Hope you will be using your Moe avatar. I never could settle on one myself. But you and Moon were always instantly recognizable, which is cool.
  2. If you are talking about Young, he has only been utilized as a part time player so far, only playing two complete games. Do you think his impact is really that significant on run production and wins/losses?
  3. I've lost my patience. I'm done with Clay.
  4. Just popping in to say I was done with Clay last season, and this season I'm even more done. So much potential unfulfilled. Not sure there is a better option this season, but I hope they say goodbye to Clay when they can.
  5. You got that right. Good thing this site is properly moderated.
  6. Hi Moon,

There is a new forum with a few poster from BDC on the free forums. It is located at http://bostonredsoxforum.freeforums.net/. Your name was brought up there in the hopes you would check it out. Just thought I would let you know. Not sure if many will go there and they still need a moderator. I signed up just to see how it would go.

  7. When I used to go to games in the "cheap" seats, I would always joke that it is America's most uncomfortable ballpark.
  8. I've already posted on the BDC refugee thread, but I thought I'd let you know more about how I became a fan. Back in 1972, I was listening to a Red Sox Game with a transistor radio under my pillow when I was supposed to be trying to sleep. The Sox had a three game series with Detroit, and had a half game lead. In this game they had a chance to have a big inning, but Luis Aparicio slipped rounding third on a sure triple for Yaz. He tried to get back to third and Yaz saw him too late. Yaz tried to retreat to second and was tagged out. The Sox didn't score the rest of the game and lost. The Tigers won the next game to get a game and a half lead. Because this was a strike shortened season, the Sox played one less game than Detroit. So even though they won the final game, they finished a half game out. To come so close and not make it was agonizing. So of course, I was hooked. And the agony became despair in 1986. From that year on I wandered through the desert, barely keeping tabs on the team that had hooked me by coming so tantalizingly close only to fail at every turn. But 2003 renewed my hope, followed by the dream of 2004, and this prodigal son returned. Now I've seen three championships, when I once believed I would die without ever seeing one. Being a Sox fan ain't what it used to be, but I'm not complaining.

    Celtics

My Celts played a great game yesterday. They aren't championship caliber, but at least they are fun to watch. Nothing was worse than the terrible teams Pierce was on. All the focus was on him and they didn't play team ball. He was lucky that Ainge convinced his old buddy McHale to let him borrow Kevin Garnett for a championship.
  10. Another BDC refugee here. I hope there is room down at the end of the bench where I usually sit. I'm good for the occasional pinch hit and solid defensive play.
