  1. JBJ would have had that ....
  2. And look at the face on Buck LOLOLOL
  3. Dude's on fiyah! And some were worried. Not me. But 4 dingers in a game and an inning ... whew!
  4. which means we are stuck with that Xander guy at SS. Can't have everything, I guess. We all have to suffer sometime ....
  5. We know that things are done differently in the big leagues/pro leagues. Metal bats give way to wooden ones. It's a higher standard. Having a higher standard than "the human element" is definitely not out of the question when we expect it elsewhere. Time to go digital.
  6. Heheheh.... vg
  7. Jaqueline.... ?
  8. Did they all look alike? My late father-in-law had an affair with a woman who could have been his wife's twin.
  9. Well Done. Miles isn't a common name, but the option.... Then the phenomenon of "Heathcliff the Cat" came along. oy...
  10. An old friend of mine suits your point. His name was H. Miles Haithecock the Third. And his first name had nearly as many letters as his last. I would bet, if I were a betting man, that it would be a great guessing game as to what it actually is.
  11. Thank you, sir. I was asked by a 21 year old just a few days ago how do you know when you find the right one. I told her I really don't know, just that when this darling of a southern bell stepped into my life, everything changed. Marriage? Me? Who would be that crazy? But she's been the apple of my eye ever since. (Being in the right place at the right time certainly helped! But that is a whole 'nother chapter.). All of sudden, I'm 60. My sons are 35 and 31. I've lived in four countries and seven states and it all seems like it was yesterday. I better stop. You can tell I can blather and dither...
  12. Heheheheh .... my usual verbosity was kept in check by the respect I have for your efforts. However, if two words and a roll of the eyes is too much, then I misread you. You have misread the intent of the person I responded to as well. There is more to the person's comment than you know. In my mind, IllinoisRedSox had already corrected me. I apologized twice for that egregious error, the first when I realized the thread had been blended. I suppose that means nothing. I had just gotten in from work and it was somewhere near 1 AM. I guess I wasn't as awake and aware as I thought. However, I did make the mistake of not looking more carefully for the first thread. I honestly didn't see it. If I had, I would not have started a new one. Believe me, I have restrained myself and considered carefully where my comments might fit.
  13. One of the underlying reasons I really wanted JBJ to catch on big is he's a SC Gamecock. My pretty wife was born and raised within an hour and a half (an hour with good traffic) from USC. My older son was born in Aiken and the first two churches I pastored were in South Carolina. My wife isn't blonde, but she was in the Miss SC pageant the year before we got married. A very short 39 years ago in two days!
  14. If I could have any similar talent ... I might be more interested. I am continuously amused at the expansion of stats. I am waiting to someone to quantify HRs not only by distance but also the force in which it punches out the parked car outside of the ballpark. The HR that someone can catch with their bare hands wouldn't have the same value/factor as the one that blisters a fan's hands ... Yup.... tongue in cheek
  15. Missed it IRS ... should have looked closer. My bad.
  16. Sorry about the 2nd string .... I didn't see the first one.
  17. Correction. It was his hot bat that started this streak ... 29 games, 9 months ... .... eh .. nevermind.
  18. I remember Harmon Killebrew talking about this "training" issue. Big guys like him often were "farm strong" or some such phrase
  19. JBJ is out on paternity leave! Congrats to the Bradleys! At this point, not sure whether the new Bradley is Chip (JB3?) or Barbie. All the same, hope all goes well! Congrats!
  20. How far has JBJ dropped since moving up? I haven't looked....
  21. And he stole a hit widda suppa d play
  22. YUGE is back, old friend! :oD
