  1. I think Abreu will be the FT RFer, and we sign a pier RHB to be the DH/RF or 1B back-up. I hope but don’t think we add a TORSP, but maybe Pivetta returning would be enough, if we can stay healthy.
  2. 78-84 wins. I’m not fooled.
  3. This is the first time I have ever heard this.
  4. ...and O'Neill can't fix that, unless we move Rafaela to SS FT. With a middle IF or Rafaela & Grissom, it's hard to expect much offense or power.
  5. I guess you could look at ruin differential, and say we should have more wins, so are underperforming, in that sense.
  6. They are delusional or liars. Neither choice is flattering.
  7. I love these new articles by sp's.
  8. Not a bad seat in the place. Very cozy and comfy. I did not make it, last year.
  9. No doubt, our offense looks putrid. I'm not sure Casas coming back hot would make a big difference. We probably need Casas and O'Neill lighting things up, as well as others busting out of their slumps, at the same time and for an extended time to salvage any hop for this season- not that there was all that much to begin with. For the month of May, we only have 1 batter with more than 55 ABs and a .789 OPS (Devers.) Only 3 batter have 55+ ABs and an OPS over .712 in May: .925 Devers .789 Duran .787 Abreu (Ref is at .809 w 54 ABs/ DHam at .833 w 47 ABs in May) We have 7 batters with 30+ ABs and an OPS below .650 in May. (5 are below .565) The rotation has been showing signs for regressing, as the defense seems to be limiting major costly mistakes as much as earlier, this season.
  10. We do play DET and CWS in 7 of the next 9 games, so I would not be so sure. That being said, I would not bet we do get over .500, again.
  11. Agreed. I remember thinking he did the right thing, despite some flack he got from the media.
  12. Sounds about right. I'm heading to Portland, Saturday. I hope to catch a game or two.
  13. This is the same guy that was playing with scissors, but did not get hurt. What changed?
  14. Is Mayer getting close to a promotion? Which of the big 3 looks most ready for a promotion? I'd order them: Mayer> Anthony> Teel (more difficult position)
  15. Not so much Ben (CC dump.)
  16. You reversed jinxed him!
  17. MVCY Most Valuable Chain Yanker
  18. We are 28-28. For what it's worth BR has our Pythagorean W-L at 31-25, which would be 1/2 ahead of MIN fo the last slot, instead of 2.5 behind. In team stats, we place... 2nd in fWAR pitching (4th SP/ 2nd RP) 10th Earned Runs Allowed (4th in ERA) 18th Runs Allowed 18th in fWAR everyday players. 9th in OPS (12th in OBP/9th in SLG) 13th in runs scored 22nd in OAA Our 28-28 record is 13th best in MLB. 0.5 behind 11th (SDP & SFG) 2.5 behind 9th (MIN & SEA) 4.5 behind 7th (ATL & MIL) On the flip side, we are tied for 13th best w CHC & STL. We are 0.5 ahead of #16 DET (bottom half of MLB) 1.0 ahead of #17 & 18 (TBR & TEX) 1.5 ahead of #19 TOR 2.0 ahead of #20 & 21 PIT & WASH for bottom third tier.
  19. We could just take the short cut by flying Jamaica Planes Airways to Also-Ran Land.
  20. Our "Schwarber" might have to be Casas. This reminds me of another pattern us fans have been going through for years: waiting for IL players (mostly SP'ers) to return and "save the day," and it never happened. There was ... Sale & Bogey in '21 Sale & Nate, Wacha, Hill, Story in '22 Sale & Paxton, Bello, Houck, Whitlock in '23 and now... Casas & O'Neill, Hendriks and after already waiting for all SP'ers not named Houck & Crawford to return. (The 2024 wait on Gio, Story & Whitlock is over.)
  21. A poster, whose name rhymes with mold dead asked why we wanted to watch him kick the ball around RF, after like his 3rd game of the year.
  22. ...and Story doesn't?
  23. More like two distinct mega-drops. 2019>2020 and 2022>2023>2024. We increased from '20>'21 and '21>'22. CB Tax line: '18 $239M '19 $244M +5M '20 $185M -59M '21 $208M +23M '22 $236M +18M '23 $225M -11M '24 ~$209M -16M 2 year stretches: '18-'20: -54M '20-'22: +51M '22-'24: -27M
  24. We've fallen into a pattern of allowing one big inning, early in the game, then shut them down, while we remain shut down, all game long. If we are to make a move to try and go for it, this year, it's going to have to be Schwarberesque. Maybe 2 X Schwarb-types.
