  1. To give you an idea of just how tiny these sample sizes are, Story's OPS just jumped from .321 to .610 with just one swing of the bat.
  2. It might look that way if he dropped him below 4th. Last year, he batted 4th 430 times, 2nd 153 times and 3rd 18 times.
  3. Salaries coming off the books, next winter (AAV): $31.7M Bregman, if he opts out. $21.1M Buehler $19.3M Giolito, if team option not given $10.8M Chapman $5M Hendriks, if team option not given $2.3M Wilson $2.1M Refsnyder So, anywhere from $35M to $90M.
  4. To each his own. I didn't think saying 3-67 added anything further. I was going on the assumption that posters on here had watched the games and knew the sample size would be around 3 for 67. In fact, I'd have thought it might have been 70+ PAs, so saying 67 made it look better than I expected. 🤪
  5. That catch he almost made in LF showed me that maybe he could maybe be a plus defender in the OF, if we need or want him there. (Yes, a one play sample size! LOL)
  6. Yes, sorry. I thought of that right after I clicked enter, but figured it was still useful info.
  7. Maybe 2-3 pre-arb years and 3-4 arb years, so I'm thinking one or two FA years plus the 2 options available, so 2-4, maybe?
  8. According to soxprospects.com, here are the ETAs on their next highest ranked prospects: 2025 (late) Dobbins (8th) 2026: Perales (4th), Sandlin (11th), JH Garcia (12th). Romero (13th) & Early (14th) 2027: Bleis (6th) & Tolle (10th) 2028: Arias (5th), Cespedes (7th), Jo Garcia (15th) As of now, none of these prospects listed look to make the money KC just signed for.
  9. It’s perhaps not an accident that the club waited until after Opening Day to get this deal done. It was reported last March that players who sign pre-debut extensions, like Chourio, aren’t eligible for the prospect promotion incentive. To discourage service time manipulation, the current collective bargaining agreement put measures in place to encourage teams to carry top prospects on Opening Day rosters. One of those measures is that top prospects who are called up early enough to earn a full service year can earn their clubs an extra draft pick via awards voting. -Darragh McDonald
  10. I guess since I copied and pasted from a previous post, it turns weird.
  11. No problem. It does seem to hurt a little when so many ex-Sox players keep doing well.
  12. It's hard to imagine KC not being worth $19 or $21 that far ahead, but if he's not, it's a nice "insurance" to have. He'll be 30 and 31 those option years.
  13. It's when we bat against a lefty, things get abnormal. LOL
  14. If we could get Anthony and Mayer to sign similar deals, I'd be happy. With mayer's health issues, maybe not 8 years.
  15. MLBTR... Campbell gets a $2MM signing bonus and a $1MM salary this year. He will then make $2MM, $3MM, $4MM, $6MM, $9MM, $13MM and $16MM in the next seven seasons. There’s a $4MM buyout on the first option. There are also escalators based on awards voting and All-Star selections. The Sox are buying out two of Campbell’s free agent seasons with the options allowing them to extend their window by two more years after that.
  16. Not sure what that has to do with years of control of our current players, or that Sale has a 5.40 ERA, either.
  17. It sure looks that way, so far, but it makes the KC extension look better, when compared.
  18. So, correct me if I'm wrong, but here are the years of control of our current players - counting 2025: 8-10 Campbell 9 Devers 7 Rafaela 6-7 Crochet 5-6 Bello 5+ Anthony, Mayer, Weissert, Narvaez, Fitts, Priester, Murphy & others 5 Abreu, DHam, Slaten, Criswell, Bernardino, Grissom, 4 Duran, Casas, Crawford, Wong, Romy, Wink, Kelly 3-4 Story 3 Houck, Yoshida 2 Sandoval, Whitlock, Newcomb 1-3 Bregman 1-2 Giolito 1 Buehler, Chapman, Hendriks, Refsnyder, Wilson
  19. Rafaela got $50M/8 with no extensions. They are/were about the same ages.
  20. Kinda takes the sting away from the 1-4 start. Yes, Anthony and Mayer NEXT!
  21. Good question. If it begins, now, then the two option years would be '33 & '34.
  22. I think the view of the Sox front office has improved by leaps and bounds, this winter!
  23. Nice! Campbell is guaranteed $60MM. The options are valued at $19MM and $21MM
