    1 year of Miller for 3 years of JBJ? Nope. Plus, Miller makes $3M more than JBJ, and that would leave us no budget slack at the deadline.

    I agree, and I think the real choice comes down to HRam vs Moreland vs RHPs. HRam may be slightly better offensively, but Moreland is better on defense. To me, it's a pretty close call right now, but certainly HRam hitting very well vs RHPs can change that opinion. If it's a toss-up or close to a toss-up, I'm going with Moreland for enough games vs righties, so HRam does not vest. If it's not close, then there's no decision to be made.

    Do you really think not many GMs would want JBJ at $6.1M with 2 arbs left?

    Not many trades are made in early April. Maybe some GMs who called this winter and were told, "no" are figuring there's no use in calling again after such a short time has gone by and values don't fluctuate like in fantasy baseball.

    In my opinion, many GMs would love to have JBJ on their team, even at $6.1M, and would give up something significant to get him... despite all his slumps.

    I know I've said it before, but do you really think a GM who has liked JBJ for years will no longer want him based on 1 month of poor hitting of which only 6 games are at the ML level?

    Every winter, reports are published reporting interest in JBJ. Here's a couple links...     I don't think JBJ's 2019 contract will be higher than his value to the team. To me, the choice will likely be between Pom and Kimbrel. Who stays- who goes?

    No doubt, but GMs keep calling DD and asking about JBJ, so they must like the net value.

    My point was that he had not earned a FT role before the season started. He's doing a good job earning it in this small sample size start of the season.

    Devers and Beni can and IMO will become potent middle order bats. HRam will be batting 5th or 6th by September.

    Yes, and when the team won with "Morgan magic," which was actually based on hocus pocus, fans loved the guy. That turned on a dime, when things went badly.

    One reason why it's hard to automatically discount our success, when we don't really know for sure how good or bad the FLA teams really are.

    There's probably not any step raise percentages in writing, but I think the arb costs are predictable. I'm pretty sure a 2nd year arb with a 4 year arb player is generally less cost than a 2nd year with a 3 year arb player- right or wrong. The 4th year arb player might make more in his 4th year than an equal player in the 3rd year of a 3 year arb situation.     We really need fresh infusions like Poyner's. It's nice being 6-1, especially when you consider our full team is still not assembled on the active 25 man roster right now. Yes, we'll be facing tougher competition, but we'll have some vets joining us over the next few days, weeks and months...
