  1. Can you list the rankings of all Yankee prospects traded since last year?
  2. I'm not saying it was a bad trade. I loved the Sale trade, too, but I recognized several trades like this brings on a cliff. (I also mentioned more would have to be made for the yanks to equal our cliff.)
  3. No, I most likely will say it this winter and even more likely after Moreland's deal runs out after 2019, depending on his improvement or lack there of. He's more likely to flub up at 3B than 1B, but he will need time to learn 1B, something I'm not sure he'll get this winter or next spring.
  4. He's actually been a pretty consistent .749 since 2015. It's the injuries and missed time that has hurt him.
  5. Plus, you have made several trades this season... not just 23 & 25.
  6. All year, we heard how great and deep this farm was, now 23 & 25 suck. Got it.
  7. We also do not want him to have suffer, at his age, what Buckner went through as a polished vet.
  8. Devers has some big hits in his short career. He even has 16 HRs in just 389 ABs this year. No doubt, he has had struggles. We all talked about expecting a learning curve for a kid this young. I expected worse on defense and better on offense, but he was thrust into a high pressure situation at a very young age. Let's have patience and keep Nunez in the role he was meant to have- high AB back-up. ISO: .180 Devers (.187 career) .123 Nunez .103 Holt
  9. Can I ask why nearly everyone is putting 12 pitchers on the playoff roster, when we play 5 games in a 13 day window? 4 starters Why 8 RP'ers when we will be starting the series with 5 days off, playing 2 games- one off- 2 games- one off and 1 game (if needed)? We will likely have 1-2 long men to eat up middle innings, if needed. My guess is we keep 1-2 from Eovaldi, Johnson & Velazquez and Barnes and Hembree can go more than 1 IP, if needed.
  10. We should go with 11 pitchers, since we play 5 games in 13 days. The second playoff series might be different. I'd remove Pom and replace with Wright (Or Workman, if Wright looks shaky in Sept) I'd remove Eovaldi for Vazquez (or Johnson, if he struggles more in Sept.) I might remove Johnson or Hembree for Thornburg (or Velazqueez), if he does well in Sept.
  11. I think it had more to do with injury concerns.
  12. Swihart is Dave Roberts.
  13. Agreed. And, he'll get too many years from someone as well.
  14. Conceivably, you use the equal money it would have taken to get him, and you get someone(s) else (maybe younger). Plus, you get a draft choice. It's hard to know that's a win-win ahead of time, of course.
  15. Gotta love the Yanks losing by the pen. Couldn't have been written any better. The pen is not mightier than the sword.
  16. Keep emptying the farm. You may catch up to our cliff by the next trade deadline.
  17. We have 5 days off between game 162 and the first playoff game. We play 2- sit 1- play 2 sit 1- play 1 (day off after). That's 5 games in 7 consecutive days, but also 5 games in 13 days. 11 pitchers might be more than we need. 14 position players works best, and there's room for everyone.
  18. We don't need 12 pitchers. We went with 3 catchers before Vaz got hurt and we had 12 pitchers then. What minor league position player is screaming to make the playoff roster? We have 12 position players now. Add Devers and Vaz and you got 14. One could argue having 3 second basemen is less needed than 3 catchers. No way Leon is left off. The staff would walk out on strike. BTW, if you take Swihart and Vaz's most recent sample sizes, you see this: Swihart in his last 71 PAs, he's at .800 (1 HR & 8 RBI) Vazquez in his last 72 PAs, he's at .741 (3 HR & 8 RBI) With Vaz being a much better defender, it's not a slam-dunk choice.
  19. Our team is just playing with out minds.
  20. He was hot for a full month before getting hurt- the same amount of PAs that Swihart has been hot.
  21. Why? So we can keep a 12th pitcher...one of our current imploders? Just carry 3 catchers, if Vaz is healthy and looking okay.
  22. Tigers just scored 3 off Betances in the 9th- now up 8-7.
  23. Weird game at Pawtucket tonight. Down 5-4 in the bottom of the ninth with Devers coming up. They PH for him. In other news, Travis went 3 for 3. Haley 5 IP 1 ER (6K- 1BB)
  24. Maybe, if he does poorly as we lose, but GMs rarely drop value on players based on small sample sizes.
