Where's the well-established timeline to 100% recovery for SSs? Look, I'm not saying he won't comeback to 100%, but while there is a pretty good history moat pitchers do comeback after about 1.5 years or so, the history on SSs in largely unknown. Again, I'm not saying it is harder for a SS. I'm saying I don't know. Do you?

I already answered, "No," but I'm really not sure about how easy it is for SSs to get back to near 90-100%. Are you?

Both Price and Sale do way better with Leon. If the differences are truly a result of who is catching them, that differential way out weighs the probable loss on offense between Vaz/Swi and Leon. On salary: Vaz is slated to make- 19:$2.85M, 20:$4.2M, 21:$6.25M, 22:$7M club option ($0.25M buyout). Leon makes $2.475M with one arb year left. If the arb guy agrees that he sucks, the Vaz-Leon salary difference will be much more next year. Vaz will likely make more than Leon & Swihart combined in 2020.

So, maybe he starts on the 60 day DL? One question, of all those you listed, how many came back the same or with only a little less ability than before the surgery?

Some longer throws. Some off balance throws. Warn up & middle of inning throws. Yes. (Note: I'm not doubting Didi's ability to comeback at 100%, but there is so little history to show how easy or hard it might be.) The guy can hit, so he'll have a job regardless of his throwing arm's recovery.

That was kind of my point. The Yanks will certainly have to "wait and see." Thanks for the history and lack there of. I just find it a bit annoying how Yankee fans always assume the worst on Sox injuries and struggles, but I rarely see the same concern on Yank injuries.

I don't disagree, but I think he gets one more year at 3B to show continued improvement. BTW, I know you have been critical of Andujar's defense, too, buts you seem to focus on Devers more, although I don't see what you post on Yankee sites.

Yes, I'm not sure Holt & Lin are enough IF depth. Remember, trading Leon does not really "save" $2.45M, since even if we add a min wage guy, we save only about $1.8M.

I'm not sure what the Sox feel about Groome right now, but if they have high hopes, I'd think no, but yes, $7M could go a long way, if we are looking to stay under the max line.

It's hard to say what value Chavis has right now, and if it will increase with a big season or half season in AAA. We could really use a cheap 1Bman next year, which will help us keep a stud, but we can also use a solid RP'er now.
