  1. I wasn't joking. I think we have a good shot at winning it tonight. We have JBJ. They don't.
  2. You look so young in your photo! (LOL)
  3. I did not go to any playoff games. I went to 2 of the 3 regular season games, though.
  4. They are going to be so jacked up and over-confident, they will strike themselves out.
  5. He's batting 9th again tonight.
  6. I just turned 60. I think I inherited a gene from my dad, who often went to work on 2-4 hours of sleep for days on end. He's 92, now, and take naps, but still rarely gets 6-7 hours of sleep.
  7. I totally agree, and being the best does not mean you have to be the very best in every category, position and battling slot. We do pretty well just about everywhere and great in other areas. 108 wins was not luck. People talk about all the injuries the Astros had this year, but the last time I remember the Sox getting 30+ starts out of our top 4 starters was back in 2004 (5 starters with 32+ starts). (In 2007, we had 3 guys over 30 and Schill with 24 and in 2013 we had 4 guys over 27 starts.)
  8. I hear you and don't disagree, but yesterday was not even close to a normal throwing day for a Sp'er. Price will not likely go very long.
  9. Moreland's starting and Kinsler is ahead of Devers. 1. Mookie Betts, RF 2. Andrew Benintendi, LF 3. J.D. Martinez, DH 4. Xander Bogaerts, SS 5. Mitch Moreland, 1B 6. Ian Kinsler, 2B 7. Rafael Devers, 3B 8. Christian Vazquez, C 9. Jackie Bradley Jr., CF
  10. Good time for JBJ to go on his yearly hot streak that usually lasts 17-22 games, or so. Jackie's red hot streaks: 2015 (22 games mid Aug to Sept 7) 1.418 OPS 6 HRs 15 2B+3B and 27 RBI in 72 ABs 2016: (19 games in May) 1.366 OPS 7 HRs 6 3Bs and 21 RBI in 69 ABs 2017: (21 games in June) 1.076 OPS 3 HRs 9 2B+3B and 9 RBI in 79 ABs 2018: (4 games in the NLCS) 1.271 2 HRs 1 2B and 9 RBIs in 12 ABs (3BBs and 1 HBP) All very clutch RBIs!
  11. I thought you were going to say, "that being said, watch the Sox win in 5."
  12. I got 4 hours of sleep, but still feel energized by last night's win. I'm walking on my toes around these slunched- shouldered 'stros fans and lovin' it! The game starts 30 minutes earlier, right? That's a little help.
  13. Only because he already threw about 60 pitches last night in the pen, and not because I have lost faith.
  14. I'd lay 2 to 1 odds, he's under on both.
  15. Funny how teams keep putting the shift on the team (with great success) that hits to all fields.
  16. ...or Brasier.
  17. The bigger question is how much longer will he stick with him. We all know what the results will be, if he uses him again.
  18. Thanks. Back to baseball. What's the over/under on pitches or innings Price goes tonight?
  19. Apparently, Hinch moved Bergman, because he wanted the Sox to start pitching to him. He wasn't happy with 10 on bases out of like 14 PAs or whatever. Yes, mind boggling. Now, did moving Bregman hurt Breg but help Springer? Inquiring minds want to know!
  20. Probably right, but I'll ask again, didn't the review uphold (agree with) the call and not say it was "inconclusive?"
  21. I totally agree, but as the rule is written today, it makes calls like this very difficult. Now, imagine they changed the rule to interference can happen on any catch able ball not matter where the ball is hit. Now, you have a judgement call. Could Betts have caught it vs would he have caught it. It's like pass interference on a ball that was deemed uncatchable. There is often gray area and tough calls on close plays, no matter what the rule is or isn't.
  22. It was obvious the fan(s) hit the glove and forced it closed. The only real debate is whether the fans interference occurred over the plane in play (field side) or not (stands side). If a fan hits the glove on the stands side, the rule is clear: it is NOT interference. If the fan interferes on the field side, then it is interference. I do not think there is any clear angle that shows where the touching of the glove occured, but there are several hints that show, to me, it happened on the field side of the plane. 1) Look at the fans. They are up against the fence and leaning forward slightly. 2) Their arm are in front of them and/or slightly to the side, but they are clearly outstretched. One fan looks like his arms might be parallel to the wall and not reach over (the guy to the right). By looking at a 2 dimensional photo, you can still determine depth. 3) Look at where Betts left the ground and landed. He hit the wall almost at the same time his feet hit the ground, so he started his jump away from the wall and ended up at it after his glove had already come down after the play. I do not think his glove went over the plane. It may have a little after contact with the fans, but not by much. I think the fans broke the plane. Interference was the right call. Didn't the review agree with the call and not say it was "inconclusive" thereby withholding the call on the field?
  23. How about Hinch? Breg gets on base like 10 times in the first 3 games, so he moves him. Brilliant! If that was Cora....
  24. I wasn't agreeing with the call, I was just trying to explain it. I'd have brought Price in once the first guy got on in the 9th.
  25. I disagree. I thought the Kemp play was a catch. I thought this play was a HR, at first. I try to be objective.
